So basically, our first team is not gonna be up to speed any time soon, whilst Arsenal and Chelsea are going to probably start better than the rest.

That can't be correct, Kane has said he's not back until the 6th which is only 5 days before the season starts.

Looking forward to the usual over reaction to the Roma game ranging from "we're going to win the league" to the usual "relegation fears" I blame Levy.

Winks may not be ready, did not go to USA, likewise Onomah. So may have to start Sissoko. On the plus side Kane is eager to come straight back in, which would mean Lamela switching to RM and Moura dropping back to the bench.

Poch quotes in US earlier today:

"Harry is doing his recovery work in London," said Pochettino. "He’s doing well after his injury and we’re waiting for the evolution and we hope he can join the group as soon as possible, but at the moment he’s out of the group. We need to assess him every day."

"Josh is part of our plans, he’s injured and doing his recovery with Harry Winks, that’s why he’s not here."

Ooops, you are right, I forgot to replace Winks being lazy by copying and pasting my previous team post.

Hope the nod to Josh is genuine and he gets a chance this season.

It is good to see us playing against the big European teams in pre-season friendlies for the last 3 years. For the records, we lost 0-2 to Real Madrid and beat AC Milan 2-0 in 2016, lost 1-2 to Juventus, 0-1 to Atletico Madrid and beat Inter Milan 6-1 in 2017 and last year, we beat Juventus 2-0 and PSG 4-2 before losing 2-3 to Roma and 0-3 to Emirates Marketing Project. Regardless of the results, playing against the big teams in the pre-season seems to be having positive impact on us as we have finished in top 3 in the league for the last 3 years. Remember, we used to play pointless pre-season matches against shyte and unknown teams before that. Maybe Pochettino deserves big credit for that as our approach to pre-season friendlies have changed since he took over as manager.

But unfortunately, this year's pre-season friendlies won't reveal much to us on our strengths and weakness as most of our first team players are still resting after playing in the World Cup. Disappointingly, we still have not bought any new players for this season. Not sure who will get us the goals with Kane still not available. It will be annoying if we again have to rely on Llorente for the goals whenever Kane is not available.

Lamela scored a great long range goal when we beat Inter Milan 6-1 in 2017. Too bad he was out injured for most of last season. Really want to see Lamela start and have a good impact against his former team Roma. Remember, Lamela scored 2 goals when we beat Leicester 5-4 in our last league match of last season. It will really lift his confidence if he can score against his former team Roma.

After losing 2-3 to Roma last year, it will be good if we can get revenge over them this time. Let's hope the team will turn up with a good mentality and get a morale boosting win over Roma.
