I think this season may well have a slow start to it mainly due to the disrupted pre seasons the top clubs had due to important players being away. I think the first month will be slow.
Think how many times we failed to convert chances last year, even after Ade came back. Soldado's link up play was good but his goal scoring/chance taking was poor. Kane is good but not top class. Ade is inconsistent. I think we need better forward options. We tried numerous options out left and none looked really natural. And we haven't had play maker since Modric left and have suffered as result. Essentially we are relying on Poch to make the difference - which is a tough ask. But we still may get a striker and a playmaker in.
Thing is most clubs have a relatively settled team to build on. For at least a year no one has figured out our consistent starting 11. I have faith in Poch. But for me that is his biggest challenge right now. He knows how to coach players, but he needs to decide relatively quickly who his team is and work with them. Which I think he will! Was hoping today's game would give us an idea, but clearly there is some way to go.

It was like watching paint dry. Several of Schalke's better players missing, West Ham offered very little going forward. Stalemate.
West Ham parked the bus from the first minute, embarrassing.
Taking my son to his first ever game against Schalke. Hope it's a good game.
