What dont you like about him? Id be interested to know.

The main criticism ive heard is that he's so versatile, people cant decide what his specialism is. I.e. is it at running from people from deep, or is it his ariel ability as a target man. Because he's pretty decent at both

I haven't seen loads of him, but he's always looked like he's does nothing.
Pace and dribbling that looks good because he's lanky, but runs into dead ends.
Reminds me of Paulo Wanchope.
Looks decent in Germany, but don't see what he'll do here.

Maybe it's partly because his hype is so big and partly your point re; not being a specific type of player.

He's still a kid, so he might be more Salah-aged-20 rather than Salah-aged-30 if you know what I mean.

It will be great if he can score and assist, but there is a lot more to it than that e.g. can he fight for the ball with 7ft centre backs kicking him, can he scare a back line into dropping deeper, can he play with his head up and pick a pass to someone in better position etc etc

This, this deal is looking more and more like a fudging blinder

- Player became available later in window, we quickly moved and put the hard money in front of Bayern (they accepted)
- Player still wants long term future, so pushes for a loan
- Others step in, we counter by offering same loan but potentially paying Bayern bigger loan fee (United claiming they didn't want to pay loan fee, image being cheaper than Spurs?)
- Player agrees to us on loan, we continue to work the option clause in, looks like we got it ..

If that's how it plays out, fudging well done

Na I think two is fine. Not great with Dragusin being out, but means Danso goes straight in and Gray deputises again or VDV comes back in.

Tel in makes it a great window imo. A second defender makes it amazing but unlikely to happen.
 
I expect Bayern are trying to force him to us as they owe us a fair bit from the Kane deal and are comfortable with their other options for the next 2/3 seasons.

We've got 8 CBs (excluding Gray), 3 currently fit, with Romero about a week. I really dont think we needed another CB. RW and LB are really our two key squad gaps.

Yeh otherwise the contract is worthless and Tel can just say, na I want to go back and it's the same as a straight loan. Has to be a difference.

Or is it an option to buy at a set price, fee sorted terms to be agreed with the player?

Who knows but levy will screw them somehow
