Politics, politics, politics

If it was that easy, she could have done that 2 years ago. "Nothing has changed" in that regard, the huge majority of Labour MPs are either pro Soft Brexit or pro remain (via 2nd ref.) But the other factor is that all of the firm leave vote amongst the electorate is with the Tory Party and UKIP is in a coma. Going along with Labour moderates to soft-Brexit or 2nd ref. is fine with me and I'll be happy with it, but the leave-means-leave crowd who have been happy to vote Tory may peal off to UKIP. Only needs to bring UKIP a little bit back to life at the expense of Tory votes and The Tories are out of power. So here's hoping! :D
Done correctly the blame can be entirely put on Corbyn. If it weren't for that awful communist we'd have had a proper Brexit. But at least we're in EFTA and can work on further removal from here, etc, etc.

With Corbyn's well documented Euroscepticism, that is going to be some sell haha. May has tried this for the last couple of years, she thought she could I think -- how many times at PMQs (yes, I'm sad enough to watch most of them on iplayer) has she asked him to rule out a 2nd referendum etc? He hasn't played that game, Labour have just kept it ambiguous and let May phuck herself. Now, after 2 years of saying "no customs union, no single market, no 2nd referendum, no deal is better than a bad deal" she is going to be forced to change course. And she knows that her and her party are going to have to eat sh1t for it from the "leave means leave" voters, hence her reluctance.
.

Worst. Opposition leader. Ever.

To fail to get a majority over that complete fudging shambles should shame him back into the beardy cycling tofu tavern that he crawled out of. Bet it won't though.
It's before my time but how have these been won in the past? As long as no tories flip and DUP will not want a Labour Government they cant win. Do you need some of the ruling party to vote a no confidence in the Government? This is less likely these days as politics has moved along party lines.

You think the EU would allow UK in EFTA if we are positioning it as a stop gap? I am not so sure, they want a conclusion to Brexit more than anything.

The last one was won by the opposition - when Margaret Thatcher forced an election.

As with this one, no party had a majority and the vote was won by bringing along the smaller parties. Corbyn could tempt the DUP to vote for him if he wanted it enough, but it would involve him publicly denouncing his terrorist friends so he won't do it.

Yes I suppose he could bring DUP, would mean publically denouncing a united Ireland and DUP believing him and believing they wil get more out of him than a beleaguered May. Unless he brings Boris or Mog and their crew I cant see how he wins one of these, everyone who would vote against the government did.

I think with May shes playing a very very political game of chance,i think she knew this was the most probable path that was going to happen ,she knew her plan wouldn't get majority support of her party ,then, she most probably she knew she wouldnt get support of Labour as there intentions was for an election full stop.....so she did a deal that was sort of covered bits of everything 'people' asked for...she was hoping for a bit more support for it but she knew that it was going to be rejected, she knew some of her party would ask for a vote of confidence against her .......she passed that,so shes got power for another year......she knew after the deal got rejected,Labour would try to get her out......she passed that,so shes got govt support now....meaning she can go back to Brussels with all this backing, meaning Brussels can't arse about with her now. I think Article 50 will be pushed back by 6 months, she's in power for at least another year, she's now asking for suggestions off other parties ...,as they been asking for a good year or so, so when shes goes back to Brussels, shes got her party support, govt support and now suggestions off other parties in her deal now,so shes got some support off other parties now.

The onus now is on the EEC to give way on their stance, they don't want a no deal,so with May now having all this backing, shes backed them in a corner, they know now shes got far more leverage than her first deal, she may not get everything but she'll get far more now than she had before,EEC will have to agree to some things just to avoid a no deal. The only thing EEC will cling onto is for a second referendum but that is a slim chance to happen,if that happens and fails again they don't want to go through this process again and then May will steam roller them knowing the uk voted twice to get out.

Remember 500 MP's voted for the refendum,500 MP's voted for the question to give to the public, over 400 voted for Article 50,the only party that wanted to stay in was the Lib Dems and in the last election they losed over 40 seats from 50 to 9 and we were told that this was once in a gereration vote.....how clear was that.

The 'Corbyn is a terrorist' scare campaign will fail, as it will only appeal to rusted on right wing nut jobs and the ignorant non voters anyway. Says just how low the Tories have fallen. it's all they have got.

He is a bit brick though as well.

I regret that Ed Milliband allowed himself to "focuessed grouped" to death as when he is natural he is decent and he is a happy medium.

That only happened because the flithy Tories didn't pair with sick Labour members and also the SNP ratted.

I am a staunch labour voter but even I can see he has some shady past relationships and has made many a public statement of support for terrorist organisations. The "I didnt know who I was sitting with" or whatever he comes out with does not wash.
While we are selling arms to Saudi Arabia pointing to him sharing a stage at a pro Palestine rally should really be moot.

On that basis its open season then? Thats such a poor way to look at things
Maybe but I feel that more attention should be put on the fact we are selling arms to known terrorists rather than sharing a stage with one. Both are wrong but I feel the fact that so much attention is put on him is due to the press wanted to bring him down rather than any real opposition.

He doesn't need any of them. Those who voted for no confidence plus the DUP would win by a narrow margin over those who voted against less the DUP.

I thought you meant saying "we're in EFTA and can work on further removal from here" publically - Cant see 1/3 of the Tory party not saying in the press this is what is going on.
We only need the EU to sign on to it before we announce it. Seeing as we only have a few weeks anyway it would be doable.
