Politics, politics, politics

Has there ever been a border between Northern and the Republic of Ireland?

Sent from my Nexus 5X using glory-glory.co.uk mobile app

I will go wake up the wife, she is from the republic of Ireland, not sure what relevance it is though, and yes I read your post on the previous page about the guy who backed leave and then said something you disliked.

I could post things on here that a lot of remain people said before the vote and since that have got my goat, but I don't think we got the time. Interesting programme on t.v. tonight all about the referendum, Farage went a bit up his own arse, but then he campaigned for so long I suppose I can forgive that, but what got me was the morning after people saying how fuel prices were going to go up 10% in the next week and food prices would follow. These were elected members of parliament who are meant to be running the country.

As you say we will not know the full effects of Brexit for many years, though a realignment of our economy towards emerging markets and away from a failing continent does not seem such a bad decision to me, what really gets me is how many so called intelligent and educated people were telling us the world was going to end and Britain would be all but bankrupt by the end of the year and they still have not come out and apologised and admitted that their statements were politically motivated. The Governor of the Bank of England should have been sacked by now, dropping the interest rate when the was no need to just to make a point is one of the most pathetic acts I have seen in many years.

I shall finish on saying how truly pathetic I find so many of the young in this country, really brought home to me by the show I watched tonight, the amount of young adults on it saying or should I say wailing, "why risk it, it is scary the unknown" an actual quote from some pathetic cry baby loser on the show. What happened to peoples verve and spirit and go out and make something of yourself. This summer, before the Olympics was the moment I became ashamed to be British/English when I realised that so many of my countrymen were little babies scared of standing on their own two feet.

But it was also the summer I had one of the proudest moments of my life when I realised that my fellow countrymen despite being bullied and harrased by the BBC and Channel 4 both who take tax payers money, they stood up to the elite and declared to the world, we are open, we want to engage we want to trade we want be a part of the world.

Well said, i wish i could give that more then one like.

Because Greece remain in the eu when they really should have left.

So Greece remain, and because of this they have relatively less freedom, economic stability and social cohesion than we do? Is that your point? Despite us not exiting the EU yet.

not sure if i am still high or if Labour just selected jez as leader
It was the obvious result.

He needed a proper opposition, not just another Trot who either can't or won't economics. The Labour Party wasn't given any kind of choice at all here - they could vote for some weirdo fringe lefty they'd never heard of or some weirdo fringe lefty they'd only first heard of a year ago.

Best thing the Blairite wing of the party can do is split off and form a serious opposition to the government and leave Corbyn's lot to hang around at protests and play student union politics.

They can join the Lib Dems and call the party "Moderates Against Democracy" or MAD for short. The MAD Party can then do away with leadership elections and ignore the EU Referendum result.

I think, when Corbyn won, he should have gone outside to Owen Smith's car and smashed it up with a bat, like Walter in The Big Lebowski:

"Do you see what happens, Owen?

Do you see what happens?! This is what happens, Owen! This is what happens when you F*CK A CORBYN IN THE ASS!"
