Politics, politics, politics

Great - but as Ive said HINDSIGHT!

NOT hindsight!!!! I fudging spent many hours protesting and doing everything I could to stop it happening (naively). No, NOT hindsight at all!!!!! When the towers went, I said to my missus that this horrible, horrible crime could well end up becoming the bridge to unity the world needed. That maybe those thousands of people did not die in total vain. For a few weeks there was actually hope it would turn out that way. Then they started chipping away at Iraq...I saw Scott Ritter speak...sorry mate, throw anything you wish out there, but this is absolutely NOT hindsight on my part. Or the parts of MILLIONS.

No it didn't. We have repeatedly tried to 'control' regional despots and dictators. We place them, support them, flog them and then (when we've had our 'fill') fudge them off. It is a simple cycle of hogwash really.

Yeah i remember when Gaddafi was "the biggest threat to the world" then he became "a great and true leader" (after the new oil contracts were signed) and then he become "horrible" before he was finally deposed...very clear.

Oh but hindsight and all that innit...

Lockerbie overlooked...conveniently...

We should have a Somme enquiry or a Suez one the Dardanelles was a corker Winston Churchill's crystal ball definitely on the blink with that one.
The list would be endless.

Wars are always a bad idea but I'm not sure I would have done much different. My favourite is Afghanistan the king of roosterup ideas. Hindsight is a bitch.

I believe there was a Dardenelles Commission that investigated the failure and Churchill did resign over the issue as did Anthony Eden in the aftermath of the Suez crisis, but Tone stuck around like a bad fart smirking at everyone while the cash rolled in.

Actually, your line of 'logic' here resonates far more with a 'religious' type. You know. All hands to the bible and what it says is 'the word' end of...
Far from it - my opinion is shaped by the evidence presented.

It's the "Blair is a war criminal. I understand the fine nuances of international law, despite being a Dance/Drama undergrad" lot who claimed this report would be the evidence that Blair was a war criminal.

Now the report disagrees with their preconceived opinions it's suddenly not evidence it's just a cover up. That's how religious people argue. It's also how 911 truthers and alien anal probees do it too.

"bad fart" hmmm

Maybe we will agree to move on!

Wow. 700,000 fewer jobs advertised online post-Brexit

Ha! Like a religious person, 911 truth or alien anal probe (never heard of that one! :)) you are no more or less than those you denounce by taking the stance you do. Of course, you will deny it. Like thumpers do when one tries to point out that the bible might actually not be entirely, 100% accurate (Mary, etc).

On another tip, I suppose it's a bit 'alien anal probe-y' to pontificate on this piece of increasingly-distant 'history', right?

The only thing I can say positively about this report, is that at least it happened. As a friend of mine pointed out, Rumsfeld and Cheney continue to walk free and easy with not even the slightest whiff of a question directed their way...

By the way, I question that, given how bunk the initial 'evidence' was at the time...alright alright, I will stop now!!!!!!

:D

I'm sad because you want retribution for people who subsequently make mistakes!

It's so common in todays world.

If we don't stop we will end up with nobody taking any tough descisions for fear of jail and retribution. I wonder what today's media lead Facebook/Twitter world would make of Harry S. Truman and the dropping of the A-bomb?

We must stop this 'Somebody must pay" attitude! We all pay as we hopefully learn.
