Politics, politics, politics (so long and thanks for all the fish)

“I’ve got the biggest c ock.”

“Fcuk off, I’ve got the biggest c ock.”

“No way, my c ock is way bigger…”

Bannon said. “Before, because he put money in, I was prepared to tolerate it – I’m not prepared to tolerate it any more.”

Lol. Nice to know Stevie that if I put my money in you can turn a blind eye?

You say "nobody leaves their house or hotel" like that's a good thing? Also, Manhattan is only 1/3 of New York proper. And it's the richest and cleanest part. If you go to parts of London it looks spotless and there's no homeless people either. Have a wander into Brooklyn or Queens or the run down suburbs around the city and then come back to me about their pristine holy land they've created...
People always lay it on thick about London far beyond the reality. I've spent probably 15 of my 20 odd years working in various parts of London and yes there are issues but not anywhere near the level people drone on about. Its certainly not filthy, the underground network is generally phenomenal given its age. Like you say NYC is a huge place, you go for a walk a few blocks in the wrong direction and you are in some pretty sketchy and dirty areas, I was there two years ago and walked one or two blocks the wrong way form Square gardens and was on 9th Avenue ( I think) and it was a sh1t tip, shops boarded up and it was filthy, so I don't buy that NYC is utopia.

Yeah I agree about London. I personally think it's a great city. I love NYC too. Qualified by the fact it was a good few years since I last visited, so things may have moved on BUT, if you wanted me to knit-pick: JFK is their best airport. And, let's be frank about this: it's s**t. In summer the whole place whiffs of sewage. Manhattan is obviously very nice around the touristy/visitor areas, but nobody could have failed to notice the drive in/out from the airport through those shanty town like suburbs....

Yeh, to Caveat I absolutely love NYC......

Funny you mention airport's, US airports are grim in general, I have transit through Ohara a few times and it's so so bad.

Looks like Starmer needs some new tech advisors
The PM talking bo***cks about something he doesn't have a clue about, while defending one of his ministers for everything going to sh** and another of his ministers for being involved in a criminal corruption investigation....pretty much deja vu for British politics over the last 20 years...

There's an undeniable "Alan Partridge" vibe about Starmer. Even down to the rumours about his closeted and repressed sexual preferences....

So Siddiq has now resigned. What i find incredible is that Starmer has released the findings of his ethics advisor into the allegations and the line that struck me was the bit where Siddiq claimed to have believed the London flat she owns was gifted to her by her parents "despite signing the land registry transfer form" (which showed who it was really being transferred from.....they really think we are thick as mince don't they?

Enough people were thick enough to vote for them. Maybe he has a point.

The same voters who brought us Brexit and Boris Johnson - two sterling bits of judgement.

Good to see inflation down, quite possibly heralding a further reduction in interest rates. Pound up marginally against the dollar and the yield on government bonds down 5 points on last week.

Just a thought, but perhaps The Daily Mail was wrong and the world isn't collapsing in on itself. Hopefully they and The Daily Express can now get back to their bread and butter - speculating on who killed Diana.

So far the damage done in the markets is entirely down to Labour rhetoric (that and a general suspicion that Reeves is probably out of her depth). Her own PM wouldn't guarantee her job - an arm's length minion had to do that for him.

Wait until April when the changes actually take place and see what happens then.

It's not straightforward to undo in 6 months 14 years of the adverse effects of austerity, Brexit and Liz Truss blowing up the economy.

I'll judge them in three or so years time.
