Politics, politics, politics (so long and thanks for all the fish)

You have to hand it to Mossad; now their walkie talkies too. That is some proper James Bond s hit. It’s smoke signals or carrier pigeon for Hezbollah now.
It's brilliant as a piece of theatre in isolation. However they are so far gone down the facist route now, there's going to be a big reckoning soon when the western democracies abandon them. The Free Palestine movement in the West has ballooned in recent months and is becoming a majority position. With every battle they win, Israel is losing the global sympathy war

The Westerm democracies are cosy with other fascist regimes; you may be right, but I can’t see the US (or, therefore, the UK) walking away.

Walkie talkies and pagers, what's next, CB radios, are we going back to the 70s.
It's nuts that in an attempt to hide their actions organisations are regressing their tech when it comes to communications to this degree.

So Starmer has taken more in free gifts then any other MP since 2019.

I voted him because he was the least worst option. Best of a bad bunch, had hopes he would have more integrity then the tories.

Politics is all just corrupt isn't.

If Israel (or should that be Netanyahu?) wanted an excuse for war they'll get one now.

This is going to cost them allies though. Germany refusing to sell them more weapons now.
In addition who is going to buy anything from Israel now as it might have a bomb in it. Netanyahu is destroying Israel from the inside out.

It’s not a good look. He’s had a bad couple of weeks, after a good start. Has seemed naive, and a bit stubborn…not unlike someone else I could mention…

Haha

What is stubborn though? To believe in something?

Not sure Starmer is stubborn he either has broken the rules or has not. Seems he has multiple times to quite a high degree, that is something Johnson was condoned for by lots on here.

So does it not matter because its Labour and they are generally nicer then the Conservatives, they are.

To be honest the sheer amount Starmer was doing has opened himself up to massive questions.

Labout, Tories, Reform, Lib Dems they are the same
Only in to feather their own nests and get their noses in the troughs

I don’t think he’s broken any actual rules, which is why I say it’s not a good look - taking lots of freebies when you’re on a very healthy salary, and when millions of the people you represent are struggling with the cost of living, suggests pretty poor judgment. His unwillingness to accept this might be the case suggests stubbornness.

On his wages saying if he did not get free tickets he could not go to games

Well if he did not declare the clothes for his wife then I guess technically he did break the rules, at the least did not declare it till prompted by the civil service.

Got to say the tories did that and we were all fuming.

One of my favourite stories is how in the Yugoslav wars, when the high tech NATO comms were found to be being intercepted by the Serbs they just sent in the Welsh Guards and used Welsh as an unbreakable encription method!

Id wait and see what happens/give it a bit of context of tine. It feels like a bit of a hachett job by a few disgruntled former-regime SPADS

I thought these leaks were from current regime SPADS that are disgruntked because they've all been given pay-cuts due to being transferred from labour-parry employees to the civil service pay bands only to find out that Sue Gray (who they all seem to also hate) has been given a huge pay rise?

Hmm. He’s already said that the Arsenal corporate box story is true. Says it’s for security reasons, which is fair enough - but he should pay for it himself then if he feels he’d like to go. He sidestepped the question about his glasses being paid for. It’s a poor look for a new Labour government imo - worrying that he’s shooting himself in the foot so easily so early, and allowing the narrative to be taken over.

Not sure why his wife needs to be gifted new clothes either, sounds like they're all on the gravy train just like anyone in power over the course of history. Sue Gray getting paid more than the PM isn't a good look either.

As expected no different to the last lot in power
Things will never change

I'm not particularly surprised about that, as I imagine there are a few senior civil servants who would earn more than the PM. Appreciate she's now working for the Labour party but she was unlikely to take a significant drop in pay to do so.
There is a more general question of whether we pay roles such as PM enough.
