Pedro Porro

Spence definitely needs to be in at right back. He is a better defender and right now we do need to tighten up at the back. Any improvement has to come from the back forwards. If we can keep clean sheets then we only need a goal to win. I don’t want us to sacrifice attacking play but there are steps to tighten us defensively that can be taken without needing to revert to park the bus football and Penge in for Porro is one of those steps for now.

Penge??

I know this is going to be dismissed by a few but in one way he reminds me a little bit like Trent at Liverpool, as a FB both are substandard but i can see Porro fiting in further upfield. He has pace and can pass a great ball.

He's very similar to TAA, I'd argue he's a better defender. I swear people are weird with their understanding of the game, so many of our fans would bin Porro and Johnson, can you imagine where this team would be without their offensive contributions? It's on the fudging manager to compensate for any defensive or workrate (Johnson) challenges that creates

How good would Spence, or anyone, look having more or less played 90 minutes twice a week for a couple of months with a disjointed team around them?

I rate Spence very highly and he offers a lot of quality. In terms of quality passing, long passing and crossing Porro is a stand out in this team, particularly with the current injuries.

On performances this season I'd drop Udogie before Porro, but ideally want to see more or less equal rotation between the three of them.

I’d never made that link but yes you and Parkie are spot on.

Both are box office with outstanding technique and either could play for Madrid.

We should be lauding him not giving him a hard time.
