OOMT - Tottenham Hotspur V Boro

Weak. I'm not overly impressed by this character. He goes down for treatment after making errors. Reminds me of Gomes. He's a 15 stone weakling!

It's not as if he's an against ball player neither. Sissoko kept on playing it safe and backwards whenever he got it. He reminds of Paulinho under AVB. He completed only 3 forward passes in the game today.

At least when Chadli did fudge all in the game he would pop up with a goal.

We had three "75% chance" penalties. I can understand why a homer ref wouldn't give ONE of them to an away team, but the second would always be given... and after you get three of them, they DO mount up and the ref should definitely have said enough's enough, pen.
The ref was awful today - two pens any other day and just general pu'ssied out of other decisions.

So deserved. I thought the players were great and we should have been out of sight. We're never gonna dominate an entire away game for 90 mins so I don't mind needing to hang in a bit when they score and lift the crowd, we did that and beyond a Rhodes header they didn't have anything else of note to worry us.

Our squad depth is awesome. Everyone slots in and does their job. Son great, everyone else really good.

Have to say I thought Alli was a bit too casual though. He has to stop messing the clear cut chances up and I think sometimes he has a tendency to try a wild shot when he shouldnt.

Can't complain too much though. We are right in the title race and will be up there come the end of the season. Liverpool and Emirates Marketing Project also look good but I back us to make a good fist of 2nd given our squad.

Brother from another mother!!!! :D

Win next weekend, do we go top? Team need to deal with pressure now, CL, top of the PL, Poch needs to keep them cool and clinical.

I hope Poch flags up the ref. Lays down a marker for refs. So they don't do that to us again. All the marginals going their way, and no crucial pen to get the 3rd goal. Just put something in refs minds so they know Poch will flag any poor decisions, and a few of the 50-50 decisions might come our way in the future.

As bad a 'performance' from the ref as I've seen.
Poch never does that. He always says: "It was difficult to see from my position", "we need to trust the decision of the referee" or something like that. I guess that is resepctful and a good way to behave, but I also think it makes it easier for refs not to give us decisions in the future.

This team is awesome. Highly talented. Very young. But under pressure, they are woeful. They lose their zhit too easily. Give the crowd hope. Just play our game - focus.

They're not woeful under pressure at all.

If woeful is maintaining the lead and taking 3 points away from home (without four first team players I might add) then I can live with that.

We only conceded the Rhodes headed chance after they scored. Apart from that there was nothing from Boro.

The team looked shagged. But 3 points. Should have eased home 2nd half. Some questionable things 2nd half:

1) the ref. 50-50 decisions all going for them, and none for us including the clean pen first half.

2) Poch's team talk. We looked like we were trying to see the game out with the CL in mind. Started the half okay, but lacked conviction or was it fitness?

3) How the players react to pressure is worrying. At 2-1 the stadium came to life, boro team came to life. We wilted. We need a compact shape for such times, and to focus on passing, playing the ball. We're clearly the better team, but totally lost our cool under pressure.

A fantastic win never the less. Ran them off the park first half. Young team n all that. Learn from it...

I was obviously watching a very different game. They brought on some suffers and puffers but ultimately we had it under lock and key.

If Chadders had played, would he have worked as hard?

Good to get another win. Excellent first half, goals obviously gave us confidence. Decent second half overall, though we should have been out of sight it became too close.

Great game from Son, a lot of the others either there or on the way. Sissoko needs to up his game massively though. Hope he's way off match fitness because that wasn't good enough.

You don't think our game disappeared? We weren't able to pass, keep our shape, or take our chances. Yeah apart from that we were fine (one fluky goal from disaster in truth).

Put it this way, if you were the manager, would you be happy with how we did second half? Or is there room for improvement?

"Woeful" the wrong word, but our track record of dealing with pressure situations (last seasons run in for example) we seem to breakdown, not galvanise under pressure. Something the management team can identify, understand and fix. Fatigue comes into it, but that's not all of it.

True, but let Toby deal with Gibson. You don't want a wuss doing the ball-attacking role.

I agree and that needs to get sorting by Poch.
You can see why he was such a Toon hero!
Eearly days though, let's hope he steps up.
