Yep they really have fealt belittled for the past four years. It’s not been easy for the poor souls.

Never one to run the periscope up too high in these day of relentless, high-octane, attritional football. So I scoffed a bit looking at the away games at Leicester, Barcelona, Arsenal and Everton at the top of that list.

But it's reasonable to assume that, having clinched first in the group, Barca won't run out their top side against us. Then again, we might not be able to present our best 11 either. And Arsenal will want to torment us by playing some of their scrubs. The Leicester and Everton games are definitely tough but winnable.

All in all, though, that look ahead presents a useful perspective and reason not to become too despondent over one bad outcome at the end of a most demanding trio of games. Arsenal caught us at an ideal time with a week to rest and train their best players.

Conventional wisdom says to focus strictly on the next game but Pochettino has had a real challenge managing the squad this past week. The key now is to avoid a letdown and regain momentum.

If we're still tucked into this top four battle come Jan. 1, an addition or two to the squad - ideally from the PL - would be a good thing. They'd have 4-6 weeks to get acquainted with Poch's systems before the schedule turns to greater challenges.

I think Poch will play what he believes his strongest team v Barcelona - a one off victory is worth at least 7.5m euros plus a home gate receipt and will have a bigger impact on the morale of the squad / the club’s wider reputation than any of the other games individually.

Plus it will mean we can re release those bloody tube posters!!!

Same here. I've got a mate who started supporting them 10 years ago (he's 52 now) who sent me a whatsapp saying 'thrilling win'. They are ALL a bunch of toxic, low life scumbags.
 
I share four MLS tickets with a gooner. Whose lad is a Chelsea fan. Go figure. Both were crowing when their clubs were doing well a few years back.

The gooner told me last summer he'd stopped paying attention much to Arsenal. Really liked what Spurs were doing. The Chelsea child says he doesn't care much anymore about football. Mind you, now at the age where he's discovered girls. Hard to fault him.

They both wonder why I've been a staunch Spurs fan - and only Spurs - for so long. Or why I don't get excited about the great feats of other top clubs like Barca or Real PSG or Juve.

This is the default state of 'those' supporters. Hardly worth getting emotional about what they think.

I think Lamela was hurt in the Chelsea game and thus struggled against Inter.
He was outstanding a few games back. He is sadly though made of glass and I would not be surprised if goes this January or the summer.
 
This is a very disappointing performance and result but not really surprised by this ! We rarely turn up at Arsenal away and this was another one of those matches. The only surprising thing by this defeat is that we scored 2 goals ! This was one of the worst matches under Pochettino as we played poorly despite scoring 2 goals. Apart from the last 15 minutes of the first half, we got outplayed by Arsenal for whole match. Pochettino has to take large part of the blame for dropping Alderweireld and playing the inexperienced Foyth in defence. Maybe Pochettino were influenced by the fact we had won all 4 matches including Chelsea in which Foyth played prior to this. But he should have realized experience is more important than talent when we play big teams like Arsenal away.

Credit to Dier and Kane for scoring our 2 goals and Eriksen for the assist. But all our key players were poor in this match. It was a perfect header by Dier to score our first goal while Kane too his penalty well for our second goal. Amazingly, Kane has now scored 8 goals against Arsenal but he had another poor match. The most disappointing this is we lost despite Kane scoring. Remember, we had rarely lost whenever Kane scored before this match. Son did well to win the penalty for us but has to take big part of the blame for this defeat as he had a golden chance to score when the score was 2-2. He received the ball after a blunder by the Arsenal defence and only had goalie to beat. Instead he shot straight at the goalie. It is annoying how Son always manages to score whenever there are 3 or 4 defenders in front of him but always wastes them when there is only the goalie to beat. That was the turning point of the match as we didn't look like scoring after that.

We lost this match in midfield. Dier and Sissoko failed to control the midfield as we got outplayed by Arsenal. After all his good performances recently, thought Sissoko will help us stop Arsenal but he had a poor match. Dier scored our first goal but was at fault for 2 of the goals we conceded. I think we missed Wanyama and Dembele in midfield. Maybe we still need a top quality defensive midfielder after looking at this performance.

We were let down badly by our defence. Pochettino did a big blunder by not starting Alderweireld with Vertonghen in defence. Alderweireld's experience in big matches would have helped us stop Arsenal. Maybe Vertonghen was not fully match fit as he made too many mistakes. It was a stupid handball by Vertonghen to concede the penalty for their first goal. He was also careless to get the second yellow card late in the match. Foyth's lack of experience showed as he was at fault for 2 or 3 of the goals conceded. Lloris too should have done better with 2 of their goals as well.

It was disappointing to lose our 6 match winning run like this to our hated rivals Arsenal. A draw or a win against Arsenal away would have really boosted our confidence. Instead, losing 2-4 after leading 2-1 will affect our morale for some time after this. This defeat has also caused us to drop down to 5th place in the league. Apart from the top 4 race, we also need to improve our performance when we play Arsenal away in the League Cup Quarter Final in a few weeks time.
 
Does anyone have some of the Tweets that were going round last year showing the contrast in social media output between Arsenal's players when they beat us vs our players when we beat them, or any big game?

Seems to be they absolutely revel in rubbing it in, while our players just get on with their lives. Have just seen that Ramsey put #sitdownhesaid on his Instagram...they all do seem to love a changing room celebration video despite the fact that we're not even half way through the season and we've finished above them for the last 2 years. And not just 'finished above them by a point' like they basically did to us for about 10 years, but we have been way out ahead of them for the last two. The gap has been embarrassing, and I'm quite surprised they feel they have enough to chirp about this early on.
