***OMT TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR vs Roma***

I’m going to guess the line up will be…

Fraser

Porro. radu. Davies. Gray

Bentacur

Bergvall. maddsion

Johnson. Son. Werner
I think it's more likely that we'll ask a lot from Solanke again rather than start Son. Son has fairly consistently been rotated out from the EL games I think, was subbed against City after the internationals. I don't think that was done to rest him for the EL, but rather to keep protecting him as we'll probably have to do for a while now.

Other than that I agree with your likely lineup. Perhaps a slight question mark over Maddison? Looked back to his best against City and hasn't played that much recently. He'll probably be fine starting 3 games in quick succession, but could be rested to keep him fresh for Fulham. A bit like Son (though obviously younger) I think he's one in need of a bit of protection from playing too much. Roma are a good team too and a midfield trio of Maddison, Bergvall and Bentancur is a bit light defensively.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Bentancur, Sarr and Bergvall with Bissouma, Maddison and Kulusevski starting against Fulham.

Who do you rest Maddison for?
Roma have been awful this season and I think people are judging them on their name again, so they are there for the taking

Sarr. Give Bergvall the "10" role. Better protection against transitions, more physicality and pressing. I like Bergvall, but it's a fairly big ask defensively to play him and Maddison in midfield for this one. If it's Maddison and Bergvall I have no complaints though.

But my thinking on that is also influenced by what I think about the Fulham game. Kulusevski is an automatic starter now, but I don't want him on the wing against Fulham (very different game to the City game, not as suited to him). So I think we may see Kulusevski and Maddison in midfield again for that game, unless Madders is put back on the bench.

Play a strong team, get the game won by 55 minutes then rotate
Problem with that approach is what do you do if the game isn't win by 55 minutes... Take off your best players to get that rotation? Risk overpaying them and perhaps suffer the consequences come the weekend.

I think Ange will continue as he has done so far with quite a bit of rotation from the start. That's also the way to help the development of players like Gray and Bergvall imo.

Had to happen...

Wonder if we'll get through a EL thread without someone claiming that registering Forster instead of Spence was a massive mistake this time... 😉
Not if he has to pick the ball out of his net after a couple of howlers.

I hope we see a set up with 2 cm's and someone Infront again. We are far too open when it's just 1 defending.

Hopefully who ever we put out tonight can get the 3 points COYS!

I can't make Thursday night now

If anybody fancies my ticket for a reduced price of £30 instead of the £60 I paid for it let me know in DM's and I'll transfer it over

I sit Block 252 Row 45, very good area and seat
clam was about to ask if your in the stadium. I'm flying solo tonight, usually come with a mate but he's sick.

I'm by the south 123 if anyone wants a beer with a miserable clam

There were lots of Roma supporters drinking in pubs along Bethnal Green Road an hour or so ago. I guess they are going to catch a train from Cambridge Heath station to White Hart Lane. I thought it was strange with so many police around this afternoon and loads outside the pubs
