OMT - TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR vs Man U

That was where Paulinho played for Corinthians. Tim Vickery always billed him as Lampard-ish. It was only for the national team that he played deeper, like we've been using him.

That's not the same as #10 though is it? That's just the most advanced player of a central three. #10's need vision, awareness, technique, creativity, good touch and dribbling/passing ability - Dembele has more of those than Paulinho.

Sandro, Dembele and Paulinho infront is very like Mourinho's classic combination of Makelele, Essien and Lampard

All this talk of a No. 10, anyone think AVB has told them all to just go out there and " run around a bit "?

Not a chance..that's one thing AVB is never going to do. His version of "run around a bit" would probably run to several chapters.

Who cares what Tim Vickery billed him as? now he's here we can all see his attributes with our own eyes and he certainly doesn't posses the attributes needed to play in the hole (unless we use him the same way Everton used to use Tim Cahill). That basically means we would be happy with him doing very little in general play (much like he's done already) but hope for Tim Cahill like ghost runs into the box.

AB talking now....all changes were tactical meaning Lamela was dropped. Doesn't play him vs Saudi Sportswashing Machine when he should have started, plays him on the left vs City, then drops him all together.

but who says AVB wants to play today with a no 10??

If he's playing there it will be like Cahill or Yaya Toure does.

Tim Cahill's a good comparison actually, I was trying to think of someone but only came up with Kevin Nolan :(

Chadli and Dembele in because of their Tromso performances according to AVB

I hope not. Becase if he picks next week's team based on last weeks perfromance we will never get any stability. And what about Paulinho, on that reckoning he should have been rested a while ago.

When we sacked Harry and appointed AVB a couple of chelski season ticket holders i know were laughing thier socks off saying AVB doesnt have a clue etc etc. I said you never gave him time blah blah blah etc....

How long has he been at our club now? The line up today only confirms to me that he still doesn`t know his strongest 11. Always changes the team depending on the other teams line up instead of letting them worry about us. I am now sure he is clueless, I know we are only a couple of points off of 4th place, but the prem gets more competitive each season, and I have seen our performances go from being the most pacy and exciting in the prem to this pedestrian dross that we have to watch now.Especially at home we dont actually look like we have a goal in us.

I fear the worst today

Am waiting for Ginola to walk over to AVB put his arm around him and say "I got this" and send him back to his seat.

Yep most probably but i've expressed here over the years my dislike for Tim Cahill or Kevin Nolan like players. The contribute diddly squat in general play and are only in their respective teams because of their ability to 'ghost into the box'. That being said, if it means Paulinho gets as little amount of touches on the ball then i'm ok with it.

Come on Spurs. Go out there, play with some freedom and enjoyment, and show us what you can really do.

Why is everyone so sure Paulihno is playing in the 'hole' ?

He's the only one who could cos sandro definitely can't and Dembele doesn't like to go near the opponents box. There's nowhere else he could play which is why I'm baffled that Dembele is also playing.

It's like AVB is confused and thinking the previous formation isn't working and doesn't want to play a 2nd striker so he's gone for something inbetween. If he's unsure, how can they players be expected to perform.

I just wanna see a high tempo game today.
I don't care if we don't pass it around particularly well. This is United we are playing, any way to get the result will do. Special circumstances. I just wanna see a response after the last game.

If he's playing there i expect him to be haring around after United players on the ball like Holtby on steroids.
