Apart from Coutinho's big chance in the first, Matip's header against the crossbar and Wijnaldum's deflected shot at the end (and the goal, obviously), Liverpool didn't really have anything. Sure, they pressed us well in the first half, forcing us to do mistakes, but thanks to a bright Michel Vorm, they didn't manage to create any chances out of it. So even though we've conceded that we were poor, and Liverpool are being hailed as superb (for their impressive spell for 30 mins in the first half - in which they didn't really create much), the reality is probably a bit more nuanced. Looking back at the match now without the emotions involved, I'd say a draw was the right result. I think people get the idea that Liverpool were so great because of their very dominant spell in the first half (but that's basically what they had) and because it was against Spurs. Had it been against Bournemouth, for instance, it wouldn't have been noticed as much.
