I think it's the shapes we try to take up and the way our CBs often drift wide which then pulls the opposite side FB back in. It's really obvious when crosses coming in so we so often have a man over left free to do as he wishes.

Our FB pushes up so our CB has to go out to the winger leaving one CB and the FB to defend the cross. Makes no sense cause our winger tucks in and doesn't sprint back so they always have at least one man over.
Damn...
