***OMT*** Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

Fail in the big occasions. Haven't got it in us. Proud of the season. Not proud tonight tho. Chelsea are average this season and we were 0-2 up and ducked it

Although mathematically possible, the title was gone before tonight. We have been brilliant this season, a team that has only been beaten four times can hardly be accused of failing on the big occasions. That is not to say that I am not disappointed.

On the basis of how we have played this year, we lost it in the first two months of the season. Any other year, a draw away at Chelsea would be seen as a good result, but we needed more. I can say I'm proud of our style of football (imo probably the best in the league when we are on our game), proud that we have a young and exciting squad, but absolutely gutted that we couldn't win the league.

That draw makes it 1 Defeat in our past 15 matches...you're right we lost in back in Aug/Sep.

So Dembele and Lamela out for the season? I quite liked how we attacked them, to be honest, haven't seen a Spurs side with this much balls ever.

Davids would probably have been right in the middle of that and the first person sent off if he had been there!

It wasn't first half that was the problem. It was strength and togetherness 2nd half; a focus to play our football that was missing. We looked shattered - emotionally probably after all the first half nonsense, and plain old physically tired. An astute leader on the pitch could help the team focus. Put all energy into playing precise football. If we'd done that all season, we'd have won the PL. A few games we've capitulated. To have mental strength and leadership in the middle to complement Kane and Toby might do it. A midfield/attacking player who's astute and vocal.

I thought Dier was fouled for their first goal.

I'm quite glad to see our players show some fight for a change. Sick of us playing pretty football but getting rolled over year after year. Hopefully these youngsters learn to channel their aggression as cynically as the ManU team of old though.
I hate to say...but the yoonited's and arse's .and chelsmell win by being cynical as well as being top players.
It worried me when Oscar came on..he is a Brazilian who is skilfull..hate to say it..
funny how they all turn-up today !

Very disappointing that we couldn't manage things better when we were ahead. It's supposed to be what we've become good at.

I dont think either will get anything. fabregas tried to grab Lamela and the linesman saw the Dembele incident

They were both seen by officials and actively not punished, so there can't be retrospective action

Doesn't even need to be older, just vocal and focused.

I disagree with this. I thought that we recovered well from their first goal and looked really good. The second goal though really knocked us off our stride and that is when we got straggly.

Did you not see our players behaviour?
Yes, but when Chelsea -or some of their players do that week in week out -and our players don't - i tend to think there's been a lot of winding up going on, most of which we didn't see on camera -come of which we did and nothing was done about it. Our players need to learn not to react and focus on the football - but it is not easy when the other team is committed to winding you up the way Chelsea go about it.

Can't believe some people here having a go at our players behaviour. I loved it although it got silly at the end a bit. Think about the but in Keane's book where he said Fergies teamtalk was "lads, it's Tottenham." F**k that brick. Dier, Lamela, Verts, Rose and Alli are all nasty bastards. So much better than the nancy boys we've had over the last 20 years. If we learn to close out a game, we'll challenge again.

No way would Chelbrick have done us any favours in the last game anyway, especially after all that. What did Lamela do, missed it....
