What? The guy is a natural born goal machine.
I think it turned out that those stats had been forged...
What? The guy is a natural born goal machine.

.....................Defoe
I'm not a knee-jerker but just think with Defoe's and Soldado's respective form as it is, price tags mean nothing.
Start with Defoe. It'll keep Defoe keen and it'll be a useful shot across the bows to the rest of the team - doesn't matter how much you cost, if you play well, you keep your place.
Holtby is a tricky one - had a great game against Villa the other night, but i don't believe in playing people out of position and he and Eriksen are both players who play centrally, behind the striker. For me, Eriksen's form and quality mean he should start. Townsend has worked hard but I'm not a massive fan. Chadli offers a physical presence and his goal the other night will give him a boost.

What are we looking at for Chelsea then with Ramires out?
----------Eto----------
Hazard ---Oscar---Schurrle
-----Lampard-----Mikel----
Arggh...looks a bit scary when you see it written down.
---------Soldado----------
Siggy----Eriksen----Lamela
----Paulinho----Sandro----
**** 'em, Hazard is the only one I'd swap.
Wonder what the Chelski fans views are on this one? (**Jordinho**)
Gonna be some game this.
They are a very attacking side and they are two points above us and joint top.
The Willian affair adds some extra spice, as does Jose versus AVB.
Going to be a very hostile atmosphere.
We will need some cool heads ..
Not confident about this game, id take a draw.
We have a great record at WHL, Mourinho was winning leagues while AVB was in charge of getting the coffee, and we all hate Spurs! This is one of those flashpoint games that can turn fortunes and I hope the players are well up for it.
Playing away from home should normally suit us better, they will come and attack us.
However, I get the feeling Jose will set the team up to be very cautious and with the memo of DO NOT LOSE.
im actually quite nervous about the match. i truly hate tottenham so losing is def not an option, i really wonder if Jose will consider a point a good result. I believe a point this early in the season wud be a decent result but im hoping avbs stupid ass attacks us and we bite them on the counter.
Im sure im not the only one with concerns ahead of this match.
Its the midfield that worries me - they have many big strong players and we, basically dont. Im worried it could be a Emirates Marketing Project job and we get overpowered. Without Ramiries too, thats a scary thought.
Of course there are other factors that could turn the game but the simple fact is we havent looked good since Bayern Munich, we've lacked authority and confidence. This is a crucial game and we need to come through it unbeaten really. Its going to be tough.
Have a feeling Jose may go for a repeat of Old Trafford and play for the 0-0, which i would certainly accept at this moment.
Ramires would be a big loss, as Lampard and Mikel sounds a bit pedestrian to me, and Tottenham are all about energy.
I'm wondering (hoping) if Ramires is fine and Jose is up to his old tricks?
Will be a tough match,Spuds are playing well and are a strong team. This is the team i would go with Cech,Ivanovich,Cahill,Terry,Cole,Mikel,Ramirez(if abs Luiz(with instructions not to be a pratt),Schurlle,Oscar,Hazzard,Torres.I dont think Mata is at his best or i would have him in.Eto,o to me is not sharp enough and Torres deserves his chance. It looks like Ramirez is injured so i would go with Luiz, for his energy around the pitch.
 ^^To the y*ds, the old bill and any other agency.....IM COMMMMMIINNGGG
Much different Spuds team this time around, it should be a tactical battle with 'OB1' against the 'Young Apprentice', would not be surprised to see Defoe start for his pace against Terry and Cahill although JM just might stick Luiz at the back instead of Terry, anyway be great to take 3 points but I'll be happy with 1 point from any of the contenders at their grounds, providing we take the 3 points back at the Bridge. 2-1 to Chelsea, not a great fan of Nando but fair play, his hard work appears to be paying off and I would not be surprised to see him get the start and score!
Spurs will be without the injured Aaron Lennon and Etienne Capoue, while Younes Kaboul’s involvement is in doubt - but Danny Rose is in line to return at left-back.
“[Aaron] is due to come back to training tomorrow, hopefully,” said the head coach. “There was the possibility of him coming back today but he’s making great progress and we should see him back in first-team training next week, definitely.
“[Nacer] Chadli has come back very strongly, as you saw in the game against Villa, so he’s in with a chance. Younes is not yet 100 per cent so he’s in doubt. With Danny Rose, there is a 90 per cent possibility that he can play.
“Etienne will probably make his return one more week down the line. He’s not in a condition to face Anzhi and West Ham so we will see him back after the international break in October. By then he will have trained with the team and be ready for the games.”
Defoe has scored goals recently against a team in teh bottom half of the Norweigan league and against a weakened Villa side. Granted you can only score against teams you play against but I wouldnt say it means he should start. And this isnt a game to mess around with your best team and sending 'shots across the bows' to the rest of the team. Soldado must start!
