OMT ** Tottenham Hotspur v Wolves ** 29 December 2024.

BTW, I am surprised there has not been more criticism of the pathetic effort by Forster for their equaliser. Give this club a credible fudging goalkeeper until Vic is fit please!!!!

There is always blame on the keeper when they get done at the near post, they’ve got their maths wrong if nothing else.

But, we repeatedly give up chances in those positions, sooner or later one is going to get through.

Forster has made a load of big stops since coming into the team, he’s done a decent job.

I’d say it’s even more impressive, as the defensive scheme hasn’t been altered, to take into account the different style of keeper he is compared to Vic.

On the squad Ange did rotate quite heavily in the early rounds of the EL and LC. Was criticised on here for rotating too much for the Coventry game IIRC.

I think part of the injury problems are related to our style of play, but only part of it.
Part of the critique of the rotation was to do with how many he changed for those games while not rotating more in the league. Thusly the ‘fringe’ players didn’t get minutes in a more first team set up, and the nailed on starters played too many league minutes.

Could be smarter in dead games too.

5 up on SCBC, 4 down to the dippers, get Solanke out of there, the game is over.

Thats just plain wrong they had loads of chances. Shots blocked, shots off target in the second half. Not sure what game you were watching but this stinks of spurs fans that dont see any negatives just positives, when we are mid table and being outclassed by a Wolves side.
No they didn't. Look at the stats. The fact we weren't clinical and missed a pen doesn't equate to we were brick.

Why though? Gray hasn’t played a lot. Udogie has had time out. So has Bentancur. Dragusin too. Bissouma hasn’t played every game. Porro got a break.

Have our lads played more minutes than other clubs’ players?
Our front line does most of the pressing, not our defenders, and they have been playing practically every game.

I really don't care about the results, as annoying as it may be that we're dropping points in games we should be winning. Chelsea and Wolves bring two prime examples recently. What I care about is how the team is progressing and progress there is. It can take well into Ange's third season before the results are there too. In the meantime, there will be ups and downs. Look at Liverpool with Klopp, Arsenal with Legoman, Chelsea over the past 3 seasons, heck even City with Pep. This is not going to happen quickly, even more so with the crazy injuries we've had, and people need to wrap their heads around that fact.

He said Gray and Dragusin haven’t played a lot. In December, Spurs played roughly 888 minutes of football. Dragusin played 864 minutes and Gray played 718. They started 6 games in 17 days, starting at Rangers on the 12th of December and ending with Wolves on the 29th of December (they both came on vs Chelsea the game before too.) Anyone who says they’ve not played a lot clearly has no idea.

The other names: Udogie 555 mins, Bentancur 232, Bissouma 598. Only Bentancur can say he hasn’t played a lot. And it’s a wonder why, with his decision making.

:tearsofjoy: :tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy: there are stats and actual records that show no progress whatsoever, it's gone backwards.

Genuinely and not taking the Mick, if you can reel off where you think we have progressed please as I honestly don't know where we have.

Agreed on all except the bold-face. We are markedly playing through him less. Both Gray and Dragusin have turned away from a ball they'd usually play back to Vic by about 50% to my eyes. He has gone longer more often, and we have rarely goit possession back when that happens.

CBs dont tend to get fatigued. They do far less running in a game than any other position. They dont particularly need rotating. FBs and CMs def do, and CFs if you press high like we do

if thats tactical instruction, fair enough

I'd like to see us sit a lot deeper to adjust for his sweep range, and to make teams shoot from further out

Cunha banned .. after our game
Don't be to harsh on the Gods...
