We can't rotate Sonny out because the only fit alternative is the player the club and Ange actively chose to provide squad cover for Sonny?

One back up fullback? Last i counted we had Spence, Davies and Reguillon in the squad plus Gray who played right back all season for his last club.

I mean I've gone back through all of our league fixtures of this season up to the United game where he started and he was in the match day squad for all of them......I'd also note that every time Odobert played in those early games was on the right with Son on the left with Werner replacing Son as sub and Johnson replacing Odobert so again suggests Werner is seen as the primary cover for Sonny in most circumstances...

So him missing x1 European game means that just this summer we paid what I imagine is a significant loan fee and committed to paying around £125K a week on someone who was intended to be behind Son, Odobert, Richarlison and Moore for one position and was never intended to make a match-day squad if everyone was fit? I mean, some say the club is badly run, but....

I guess you can make assumption, I can too
I do believe the first choice match match day squad doesn’t have him in it
I also think you have under estimated his pay
I also think as a stop gap that means the club can give Moore other year to grow is a good thing

I agree that our poor form is a combination of factors. I'd also point out that it's a continuation of the form from last season and therefore I'm unsure about how significant the transition to playing Europa League games has been.

I don't think Ange is using injuries as an excuse, I'm more referring to people such as posters on here citing injuries as the root cause of why we are way off where we'd all want to be.

Before the Southampton game we went 5 games without a win. 1 win in 8 and 4 losses in those 8 games.

That's not a continuation of last season or earlier this season. That's way worse and imo clearly mostly down to injuries.

Inconsistency earlier in the season on the other hand, but mostly injuries.

As expected That’s 18 goals scored and only 2 conceded against these out of form teams, so as we’ve got a full week off following the Wolves game I’m hoping to see a full 90 minutes of relentless attacking which results in us becoming the first PL team to score 10 goals in a game!
