Yes, but why does Ange not want to change when we're 2 or 3 up. When we need a goal and we're trying to use it to create, 100% agree with playing out from the back, in a smart way. But at 2 or 3 up a bit more pragmitism and don't give away cheap goals or chances.
 
Fair play to Postecoglou, he's earned himself a stay of execution with those two wins. TBF, the keeper aside, I thought tonight was actually one of the best overall performances I've seen from one of his Spurs sides. We actually seemed to be making an attempt to manage the lead. An old dog might be able to learn new tricks after all ... We shall see what the future brings.

I think a lot of people are falling back on old narratives rather than seeing the actual match that just happened. BTW, for their third, Solanke is usually in and around that front post.

I don't think a single person on any Spurs forum for the last 20 years has stated that we should just always kick it out...

Play out when we can, but some times, it just needs to be hoofed, otherwise you put yourself in serious situation that costs us goals.

Both times he should have hoofed it. Vicario does exactly the same.

I am fine with a policy of playing out from the back, but for the love of fecking gods of common fecking sense, at least train them to use that grey matter between the ears and and train them to identify when it's okay to just clear you fecking lines.

Seriously, this is supposed a profession club, with professional players, with professional coachs.

Forster tonight should never have happened.

I disagree in turn. We were absolutely killing and controlling that game. We were keeping the ball, not looking to break at pace every minute, it was in fact similar to second-half at Soton. You cannot mandate for mistakes like Forster made. You'll remember that I banged on about him not being able to play with his feet the moment Vic was hurt. That was not the issue tonight. He lost focus and concentration, which is awful for a senior player. The first was poor, the second absolutely criminal. what saved us tonight was that we then did NOT resort to hoofing the ball any time it got close to our box; had we done that, they'd have won IMO.

He had an adjacent defender facing forwards in yards of space and wide of him. He simply needed to pass it on. He dithered. Watch them again. It was psychological as much as club footed.

The second one he could have moved towards the ball and cleared it before the utd player got anywhere near him, but his head was gone and he not only waited for the ball but retreated from it.

It’s insane. Watching from quite high up in the West it was hard to comprehend why we were rushing at 3-0 and 3-1 to take goal kicks, throw ins, free kicks…madness.

Does anyone know who that coach was on the bench organising the Bergvall sub and going apesht when we were letting the goals in? Ange seemed oblivious as he was operating behind him, but he seemed to be in charge of the team for about 10 minutes. Ange had the best view of any spectator in the stadium second half; no wonder he was entertained. :D
 
Probably been said but good to see Mikey Moore with the injured players watching. Don’t think he’s been with that group near the bench since he’s been out. Hopefully means he’s better and close to a return.

It was actually shocking to see. I felt we'd see it out for 3-2 at that stage, because I sensed a grit and determination about us tonight to overcome whatever came our way...

You got to hope Forster won’t be doing the same again in future games and goes long, hopefully learnt his lesson 🙏
