So Emirates Marketing Project and to a lesser degree Liverpool are leading the way. Trying to close the gap who do we need and what do we need to change to do so?
Emirates Marketing Project have 4-3-3/4-2-3-1/4-1-2-3 which is similar to what we do and strongest side is:
----------------------Ederson-----------------------
Walker-Otamendi-LaPorte-Zinchenko
--------DeBruyne-Rodri--Silva-----------
Sterling-----------Aguero----------------Sane
Ours potentially is:
-------------------------Lloris----------------------
Aurier-Alderweireld-Vertonghen-Rose
----------Eriksen-Ndombele-LoCelso-----
Moura---------------Kane-------------------Son
Obviously it's about opinions but on paper(screen) we are not miles apart in quality and now we have good bench options. Thoughts?
I think that we need to give KWP a chance to show what he can do. He had a good game last weekend and will benefit from a run in the side. City are the biggest test around but he won't learn anything sat on the bench.
I think the problem is, we've all seen what he tends to do against the best sides (Barca etc.)
Obviously he's had 6 months more training; but I'd be far happier with an established defensive defender, while easing KWP in more against mid-table sides.

Back four is tricky to call at this stage due to fitness of Jan and dier but I'd definitely play 4231...
Sissoko ndombele
Moura winks eriksen
Kane...
I would play winks further forward as he keeps the ball better than lamela... We can't keep conceding possession to Emirates Marketing Project and lamela gives it away too much...

GGG agrees.I don't get why people are pairing Ndombele and Sissoko at the base of midfield. Ndombele will just get stuck in parts of the pitch where he can do least damage.
Sides that play out from the back, like us, need central midfielders who are comfortable receiving the ball with their back to the opposition and being pressed. That is definitely not Sissoko and wouldn't allow us to get the best out of Ndombele.

Agreed. Could see an argument for starting all three to get more physicality, defensive solidity and pace on the break. But that would be at the cost of one more creative player like Eriksen, Lamela or Moura. Not convinced either way on that decision.I don't get why people are pairing Ndombele and Sissoko at the base of midfield. The Pochettino approach of being brave, try to play our game would to me be Winks and Ndombele deep in midfield with three more attacking midfielders ahead of them. But wouldn't be against a slightly more defensive and counter attacking line-up with Sissoko in it.
Not quite sure what you mean crippled us vs Villa? That’s crippled us vs Villa
City’s weakness is their defence so we are better having a go at them as we have seen before
I think our manager is far better, but last season most of our players massively underperformed.
City played to their ability 90% of the time, we didn’t break 25%.
I'd be tempted to play Alder or Dier at RB for this one
Have we ever lined up like that?
I'd start the same side as last weekend but bring in Eriksen for Sissoko and line up 4-2-3-1.
Great song, never known what it means though?
I don't think that you can read too much into performances when he has had six months on the bench between them.
I also don't have huge confidence in the other options, so am inclined to stick with the person who did nothing wrong last game.
Alder has played his entire international career at RB
