*** OMT Tottenham Hotspur FC v Brentford FC ***

It could easily have been 6-0. The lack of composure in the final third is still evident. Kudus, Poro, Muani, Sarr, Spence, and Odobert all had chances they could have finished with a bit more confidence. It really reflects the story of the Frank era so far - the attack isn’t fully settled yet. But promising signs today.

I could see improvements in our build-up play, and once again today it looked like we’re developing that aspect nicely. There’s so much more to come in terms of our finishing and the composure needed to play the right final ball or pick the right spot with the shot.

Defensively we were more exposed without Romero. Danso didn’t look fully up to the pace of the game.

Great to see Simons playing with confidence after his goal. He’s a perfect example of why patience from fans matters. Similar to Bergvall in previous matches, he can look unpolished and lose the ball - as he did right before scoring - but with time and belief, they’ll come good. Supporters need to show a bit of stoicism!

I do wonder if fans are still convinced the Brentford manager is better than Frank. Lol

To be honest, it's always a nightmare for a CB to come off the bench. There's no easing yourself into a game, like other positions. You have to be 100% from the first second, or you a conceding. It's why you rarely get subs at CB (plus they don't fatigue as much as other positions).

Decent performance that but Brentford were pretty poor - gave us lots of space
Yes it's hard to draw too many conclusions. Brentford didn't make it difficult for us but at the same time we appeared to have the correct approach. Press them, play quickly, keep moving, have available bodies to pass on to, Xavi central, Muani on the pitch. Not a bad way to play. I would say I thought we were pretty good in the second half versus Saudi Sportswashing Machine so it could be Frank getting to grips with his squad and getting an understanding how to get something decent out of them. Time will be the truth teller in that regard, but not a bad couple of games.

Well that was better today. Still a lot of frustrating moments when we refuse to pass forwards to open players.
But a lot better.

I'm still frustrated at Frank's use of subs. He waits far too long, several players blowing out their arses in the red zone, then the subs get 10 minutes which is pretty crap for them too after a week of training.

And it is bizarre to use only 4 subs, why not give a run out to one of Bergvall, Johnson, Tel? For one of Xavi/ Richie/ Gray? I guess Frank feels they were all vital and playing well, but Richie in particular was so deep into his red zone he'd gone into the crimson, then purple, then was edging into the violet.

I suppose Frank wanted Richie to head away late corners? But he can't play every game, he shouldn't start midweek for me. We know his injury history.
