OMT Mighty Spurs vs Hungry Wolves

Trying to be positive is just not your style mate...lol..please can we have the old you back..were crap and we know we are...

Haha - fair play mate, not really something I'm good at just yet. ;)

Genuinely though, I'm very serene about things at the moment. I was the same in Poch's first season as well - if you see the fundamentals falling into place, then the actual results don't matter too much because they'll inevitably come.

I see what Frank's trying to do. I don't disagree with his caution, and I think he has the right coaching staff, approach to games and tactical flexibility to get results. Right now we're playing with the handbrake on because of Frank's unfamiliarity with coaching at this level, plus our ridiculously poor record last season. But as we (and Frank) grow more comfortable in our skins, we'll take more risks and get better.

The fundamentals are there - patterns are there. Just needs a few tweaks at the coaching/personnel end, and more chemistry from the players' perspectives.

Don’t disagree, but wolves are tinkle poor
I didn’t think they were that bad personally. They were very solid and well organised. Helped that we were fudging dreadful second half.

Really frustrated with the performance and result but relieved to get a point in the end.

Thought the players tried but we were massively short on quality.

On the crowd, thought they were decent through the game. But people fudging off 10 minutes from time in their droves and others booing at full time? Really disappointed with that.

A really poor performance, we're nowhere near good enough to be competing for top 4 on the last few performances. The only positive is that we keep fighting.
We badly need a decent striker (yes I know we have two out injured, but Solanke doesn't score enough either), a LW and a keeper. Vic has cost us 4 points in the last two league games and needs to be upgraded badly.

We don't seem to be able to get the balance right at home. Our 3 good performances this season have all been away. In 5 home games we have been average against Burnley and very poor against everyone else. Having only Richie as a fit striking option certainly isn't helping. And if Kudus isn't doing it, no one else is creating anything and moving him to the left for the insipid Johnson is an act of negligence i hope Frank doesn't repeat.

At least we got a point which has been rare against this opponent recently but results are better than performances currently on home ground. Hopefully just work in progress/ teething problems.

I’ve liked Frank so far despite being disappointed tonight. He’s just done common sense things and made us look pretty well coached. Like you, I’m optimistic about our future under him but I’m not quite sure where the ceiling is yet.

But they’re a bad team at the moment. They just lost 3-1 at home to Leeds. And it wasn’t exactly backs to the walls for them in the second half. They’ve not managed a single point or clean sheet in 5 games before tonight.

Wasn’t at the game but people leaving early is pretty standard. Scraping a draw at home against the worst team in the league isn’t good enough. There’s a time and place to boo, given the opposition and performance i can’t exactly say I’m surprised even if I wouldn’t have booed the performance myself.

That was so fudging grim. Only thing worse than the performance from the players was that of the fans. Leaving at fudging 77 mins?

Why are we starting Palhinha and Bentancur at home to the team that is 5 losses from 5??
Never leave early.
From my limited experience I thought the first half atmosphere was good, but it got very rest very early second half.
Was awful towards the end.

Our attack is not good enough. We don't have a single good left winger. Richi is Richi. Our one decent winger doesn't score - just like at West Ham last season but people were insistent that's just because he was playing for West Ham. Our forward line still needs massive upgrading - we can only hope Kolo Muani is the beginning of that....

I think the players are good, I’m not saying they are title challenging standard but they are top 6 standard, with the only question being Bergval as in the 10 role as that might not be his best position.

I just saw a stat on the very low amount of open play XG we’ve created this season though, so I agree that our attack isn’t really clicking and is not good enough in a certain way.

Sarr has been injured recently so possibly not ready to start? He & Bergvall our only real progressive options in CM though

I'd prefer to see 4231 in these sorts of games - Bergvall/Sarr + Palinha/Bentancur and then an AM 3 of LW + Simons + Kudus

Gotta play Xavi centrally in a game like that. Have him picking passes with Odobert and Kudus as the tricky wingers to push them back.
