OMT Mighty Spurs vs Hungry Wolves

Tbf no lack of effort. But that half we looked lost. Great finish from Paulinha. We didn't get much luck, all those corners and they got the rub of the green on their corner.

We had great openings first half and played quite well. Second half was horrid. Our plan wasn't working, and thought we needed to reinforce our midfield to exploit the space there. Wolves had so many men wide stopping us second half. We needed to committ them out wide, switch the play and use the space in th middle. Which was how we scored in the end.

A positive for me is that we kept trying and Frank didn't just leave it as it was. We got a bit of desperate, but he kept making changes to try and force it. Happily that worked out ok.

I'm not upset in general because I know the level of this team and I haven't gotten carried away.

Something to definitely learn is never swap Kudus to the left and certainly don't swap him for Johnson. We went from everything pretty much coming from the right to no attacks coming from anywhere.

A really poor performance, we're nowhere near good enough to be competing for top 4 on the last few performances. The only positive is that we keep fighting.
We badly need a decent striker (yes I know we have two out injured, but Solanke doesn't score enough either), a LW and a keeper. Vic has cost us 4 points in the last two league games and needs to be upgraded badly.

better than a defeat, much better, but still 2 points dropped

the energy level was crap, nowhere near good enough, we were outrun and outfought

if that was because of Wednesday it's inexcusable, fudge that silly little pot off
it surely cant be down to that midweek fixture. It's a deep seated mentality issue with this club, and it'll probably take years to remedy. But i hope Frank will be the man to fix that.

That remains to be seen but they’ve been lower mid table for a number of years and their confidence must be at rock bottom. No excuse for not beating them at home.
I think they have a lot of physical players who are going to surprise a lot teams. Their winger who came on at the start of second half is super quick and the guy who came on up front towards the end was a beast.

I think today is much more simple. We looked good first half and should have scored from one of our chances. Wolves changed it second half and turned up the physicality and we couldn't cope.

I think this is it.

Our players in attack are good. They are more than capable of beating Wolves.

We needed to take our chances in the first half today. We didn’t, and Wolves adjusted. To Frank’s credit, he tried to make adjustments quickly in response too.

I will say though, that was a pretty terrible second half performance. Not sure whether the players were having an off day or what but I think the critique on our attacking play being a bit one dimensional is fair. It’s not that we don’t try different things, it’s just that we don’t look as fluid with it in attack.

We’ll ultimately be fine, but we didn’t exactly lay siege to their goal when we needed to.
