But can they pay? I wouldn't be surprised if they fail to see out the 3 years. And it seems the companies that can pay are often in some way questionable

Nothing questionable about crypto, its brilliant has quite literally saved my life by helping me afford very expensive medical procedures.
The amount of energy used to put on football matches over the average weekend in the entire English football pyramid from the stadiums to the transportation of fans and workers far out weighs the energy consumption of mining crypto.I’m glad it’s helped you but it most certainly is questionable. It’s dodgy as fudge. Uses a ridiculous amount of energy. No one understands it. Ponzi scheme.

What is all that power getting used for? Surely computers dont use huge amounts of energy. I thought the days of massive mainframes with cooling fans was over? No. In 2023 crypto used 121 terrawatts of energy. A large football stadium consumes around 15000 kws of energy a year. A terrawatt is 1 billion kilowatts. So crypto is equivalent to over 8 million football stadiums. There are just over 2000 stadiums with capacities of over 10k in the world. Even considering transport, football doesn't come close.

Todays watches have more computing power than a 60s ibm mainframe i bet .

There's one crypto (Bitcoin) which does use a lot of energy but none of the others use significant amounts. The majority of bitcoin miners run on renewable energy and some contribute the surplus back to the grid.
Bitcoin Mining Catalyzes Growth In Renewable Energy And Infrastructure
Energy cost is likely the single most important consideration for a miner. According to a recent report by KPMG, bitcoin mining stabilizes power grids and leverages underused renewable energy sources.www.forbes.com

Vid on the Kraken deal - potential value + their current legal issues
It must be easy getting sponsorship from a Korean company when on our side of the deal we have Sonny as the ultimate ace card.
Samsung has been the official sponsor of the English Premier League Club; Chelsea; since 2005.It must be easy getting sponsorship from a Korean company when on our side of the deal we have Sonny as the ultimate ace card.
Makes you wonder why Samsung hasn't been hooked. (Though not sure of their current football club ties??)
Chelsea don't have a shirt sponsor. Samsung stopped sponsoring Chelsea about 10 years ago.Samsung has been the official sponsor of the English Premier League Club; Chelsea; since 2005.
I 100% think we have a great relationship with AIA...and a great deal of loyalty to them resulting from their continued support during COVID etc. They ve been solid.Samsung has been the official sponsor of the English Premier League Club; Chelsea; since 2005.
Kia, Hyundai, and LG don't seem to have a main club sponsor. Maybe it's more to do with how locked in with AIA we are?
Amazed they haven’tI 100% think we have a great relationship with AIA...and a great deal of loyalty to them resulting from their continued support during COVID etc. They ve been solid.
Maybe Korean companies don't see great value in some marketing channels?
Samsung could easily take the naming rights for the stadium though? (Sonny is a brand ambassador for them already)
