True. I'd be terrified if we were seeing this in the last friendly instead of the first major one. Time to resolve things. Most importantly, time for Vertonghen and Kaboul to develop an understanding. They've looked like two blokes press-ganged off the street and forced into Tottenham shirts and told to develop a partnership two minutes before kick-off.

just as last year, Defoe has offered us nothing when he's without the ball. no hold up play, no linking up with the wingers, no real pressure on the CBs with the ball, nothing.

Hmm...looks like we need

a)communication between Kaboul and Verts, to play the high line effectively

b)Livermore to tuck in slightly ahead of the two as almost a third CB when in possession (he wandered too far forward, imo) and

c) someone to keep the damn ball for more than ten seconds at a time.

He's not been great, but then again other then Walker the back four have not excelled.

We've not really dominated possession, which I figured is a big key to AVBs game, but am interestd to see what changes he makes for the 2nd half. We are wide open through the middle at the back, and Bassongs not exactly a world beater at LB
