**Official Other Games Thread, Season 2012/13**

Martinez is overated and probably not cut out for a bigger club IMO. People get excited because he seems like a nice guy and he doesn't do thuggish hoofball, but there's more to management than that. He wants complete control of transfer, which will hamper him in getting a bigger club. He has a shot at the Everton job I'd think, but it has to happen soon.

He's a good manager. He is why Swansea are where they are today, he laid the foundations there, yet it was Brendan Rogers who gets all the credit. I wouldn't have minded him here, but I am glad we got AVB as I feel he is the better manager. I definitely think Martinez would succeed at a higher club, but I doubt he'd ever get the chance, unless like you said he got an Everton job etc and impressed Moyes style.

He might be a good coach, but manager? Nah

Why are Wigan turd for two thirds of every season? It's not like they've forgotten how to play football over the summer?

Watford's transfer dealings have very little to do with Zola and everything to do with the fact that Giampaolo Pozzo who owns the club also owns Udinese in Italy and Granada in Spain. He's using these clubs to bring through talent spotted by his scouting network in order to make money. A lot of the loans are from those two clubs.

Exactly, and one of the reasons I wouldn't want them to get promoted.

A club being run just to produce players to sell on for a profit...

they're brick. They play good football, but at the end of the day they aren't the best team and are probably the worst in the prem every year. Although this year i'd say Reading were worse and it's proven with them being below. It's a testament to him that he manages to keep a team with the players he has up.

Didn't that happen last week too? no late game neither. The fudges going on?

It's been like that for most weeks recently. Sometimes it's been a EL team involved and it's been moved to Sunday, but it's just Sky being brick. Why pick games that stand a chance of being moved? Like Arse-Wigan on cup final day.

It is almost certain Fulham and Sunderland won't do us any favours against Arsenal and Everton respectively today. Can see easy wins for both Arsenal and Everton.

Sunderland: Not won in last 5 Premier League games at Stadium of Light

Everton: Unbeaten in last 6 Premier League games - 4 wins.

Sunderland v Everton: Everton unbeaten in last 19 meetings in all comps - 14 wins.

Huddersfield leading Millwall 1-0 at HT through a Beckford goal. He sure gets around that guy. Anyway, if they hold on it pushes Wolves and Blackburn towards the drop. Big games for them later today.

I can see Sunderland getting something from their game. Everton rarely win easily, their ability to make almost any game close is both a strength and a weakness for them as it is for us.

Fulham need some luck for sure, think the mid week games benefit Arsenal, generally when both teams have a congested fixture the team with the bigger squad benefits. Fulham's squad is down to bare bones. But if they get a bit of luck they can of course get something from the game, if they go behind early I can see them collapse.

Stick a fiver on Sunderland then!

Potentially 2 massive clubs in League 1 isnt it, amazing how teams can fall down the ladder so quickly..

Huddersfield now lead 3-0

With Blackburn it's not that surprising, Wolves just shows you what you get for overspending on not so good players, just like Aston Villa and Sunderland.

Interesting to see Hull come up with a team mainly made up by rejects from Steve Bruce's former clubs.

I'd like to see Brentford come up, been to Griffin Park a couple of times, nice place. Interesting with their plans for a new stadium. Their game is televised later today, at least it's available on tha internetz. Rösler's a decent manager, nothing special and a bit too cautious and boring in style, but he'll do well in the Championship.

Poor Blackburn. Have always liked and respected them for beating ManU to the league title in 1995. But it has been struggles all the way for them since then.
