It was Kylie and Shirley Manson that we all went to perv on in my day.Let’s not pretend we all can’t wait to see Miley Cyrus doing her thing onstage.

Thoroughly predictable really.
It makes a far better story than "incompetent talent booker, promoted above her ability through nepotism mistakenly books 3rd tent 3pm act to headline Pyramid stage"
It's a shame because the Grauniad's arts reviews are generally spot on. It's rare they get caught up with story over fact.
He did, at least, have a reasonable record of getting globally recognised acts to perform. Her dad was a pretty poor booker, too. The problem is monarchy rather than nepotism.
I think that used to be the case when there were a lot of strong acts to choose from. With the current state of live music, the only option is to book the globally renowned headline acts and backfill from there. To be fair to Emily Eavis - there really are not that many headline worthy bands around.
You need to get a festival that is solid all say.
Only tourists go for the headliner.
I was part of a group of friends that started a festival (started out as a birthday party), that ended up having 20k+ attendance. In 2008 we had Lauryn Hill as headliner, along with Mötorhead. Lauryn Hills band was absolutely fantastic! 14 man band! One of the best bands I've ever experienced live. Not really - as long as the weather (mud) is clear then there's a fairly short path between the two main stages. Even faster if you can get hold of a VIP pass. It's getting out to the other tents and back that's a bit more tough.
I calculated 5 acts in the whole line up I'd want to see and most of them I'd only want to see 20 years ago.
Lauryn Hill
The Cure
The Charlatans
Johnny Marr
Wu-Tang Clan
All would have been good 20 years ago, but it all looks terrible now. Except the Goldblum of course.
Edit: The wife likes Cat Power a lot so I'd probably end up necking some Oramorph and seeing that
just got tickets to see Van the Man next Sunday, really looking forward to it.
Hope it’s better than when I saw him last year
I love his stuff but he had started merging his songs and playing shorter versions
I have seen in on a few occasions and you never know what you are going to get, he is either brilliant or on occasions comes across as he does not give a damn. When he is on it he is brilliant on other occasions not as good.
However when he is on it he is one of the best i have seen.
He is an amazing musician
Just doesn’t show any personality anymore
Semen samples or it didn't happen.Van Morrison is a total cnut. Got me chucked out of a wedding in the 90s.
Just looked at getting tickets to Elton John's last tour at the O2, cheapest tickets £170 a pop, fooooooooooooooooooook me
