All good pass and move types which would in some way mimic the Chelsea line up, albeit slightly inferior in quality. I think for it to work effectively the width has to come from the FB's. Walker is decent enough at this bar his crossing but Rose is not up to the task IMO (actually I think crossing the ball into the box is such a low percentage ball as to be almost redundant in today's game) A platform of Dembele and Sandro will give a good strong defensive quartet at it's core as a platform for the others to express themselves.

Agreed about crossing being a very low success rate in today's game. It's definitely more the fact that if you pull the oppositions full backs out wide you have a much greater chance to create holes in their back four.

But he HAS played there; and ultimately there's no on else who should. Same with Lennon!! But I imagine eriksen and lamela swapping about and having more movement then the formation implies.

So people actually want Holtby back now because they havent seen him so missing for the last 3 months in a Tottenham shirt.
The guy is undisciplined, can't stay in position and roams all over the pitch pointlessly because he's bored and needs a pointless touch of the ball.

Its not his position. He was even **** for Roma when they tried playing him there.
Which ironically leads to him being less involved.

Think Holtby should be here to stay. He works his socks off defensively and thats been enough of an argument for most on here to keep Lennon in our first team for some time now. I'd say he adds more going forward as well but thats for another thread.
With Holtby, Eriksen, Carroll, Bentaleb, and Sigg to some degree, we have a good base of players in the middle who can link defence to attack. It'll just be a matter of finding a manager in the summer who can use them all with affect.
