Official - Holtby

Sky's Sports News confirm that a Holtby is training with Fulham currently.

The club are trying to submit final paperwork before midday.

vYes. I think in the next year or two he'll become better than Dembele.

I don't rate Dembele particularly highly tbh, he has ability, but holds on to the ball too long and at the wrong times to be a truely top class CM. He's good enough for us where we sit currently, but can't see him playing any higher.

I've not seen anything from Holtby that suggests he will be any better IMO. What makes you think this?

We should loan him, not sell him, IMO.
Still think he has bags of potential, and will be sad to see him go.

Really?? What have you seen to make you think this? Genuine question by the way, not trying to be an ****!

He has all the attributes and he showed signs at Schalke. He may run around like a headless chicken alot but he has great work rate and passion and if he can use that in a positive way then sky is the limit. The assists for Defoes goals in the cup shows what he has in his locker and i feel with a run of games next to a holding midfielder or in a midfield 3 he could reach his potential.

Great for him (and us) if it's a loan, hopefully a run of games will do him a world of good. I have such high hopes for the guy.

Good move from the club here I think.

It was clear that Holtby wasn't going to get many games for us.... This was only likely to be more true with Sandro and Paulinho (hopefully) back very soon. We can now see how he does over at Fulham and make a decision on what to do with him in the Summer (personally I think he will be sold at this point - but at least this way we should get a better price for him).

Holtby to wear Fulham's number 10 shirt, previously worn by Bryan Ruiz (now on loan to PSV Eindhoven).

Love to see what this kid can do in that in this league in a run of games in his favoured position. Hopefully he is a hit and we can welcome him back in the summer

Why do we always buy young players if we don't have the patience to give them time to develop ? It is a bad move to let Holtby go on loan if we don't buy any more players. I do get the feeling Sherwood is going to bring in more youngsters into the team which is not a good move. We need more experienced players, not inexperienced ones.
