In all honesty, that is my concern. From what I've heard his management seems even more extreme than that of Ramos and AVB in terms of controlling players. I don't know if that is what we need. On the other hand, someone who demands respect and actually has the record that means the players give it to him (this shouldn't be an excuse but I suppose it's human nature).

If it is what we need, Levy needs to stand by him during the inevitable humps and bumps that we will go through in the beginning.

This squad is totally different than the one Ramos had, and AVB's problem wasn't that he was too strict.

Van Gaal has won the league at every club that he's managed if I'm not mistaken. He knows what he's doing.

Mad as a box of frogs, I give you that. But that's what is exciting about it. He matches Spurs perfectly, especially his philosophy of all out attack. That alone will help rectify the atmosphere at WHL, seeing us score goals again and rip the opposition apart, even if they score goals against us as well.

Manchester United meet with Louis van Gaal as uncertainty over David Moyes' future increases

First time I've seen this in print which is worrying. Hope Daniel was not using his deadline day transfer philosphy to beat down his wage demands and has left it too late.

There's no way United representatives (at least serious ones) were meeting with Van Gaal when Moyes is currently in charge.

Re: Steve Bruce wants to be Tottenham manager

I think he is a good coach, and its the clubs lack of progression (lack of monies) that has held him back from achieving more. He is one of these, what could he do on a top 6 budget manager.

Re: Steve Bruce wants to be Tottenham manager

All terrible options in my eyes. Better than we have though.

Re: Steve Bruce wants to be Tottenham manager

he's a done a good job at a few clubs, but I've never seen anything to make me think he'd be a good fit for a club at our level, the way he genuflected to Jose was interesting as well, Spurs need a ****y manager who believes he's better than everyone else

why not, football is a murky world.......amazingly, Moyes himself said that most of their potential summer signings have told him that they will move to Utd even without CL football. errrrrm, how are Utd reps being allowed to speak to players contracted to other clubs before agreeing transfer fees with those said clubs?? tapping up??:-k

Re: Steve Bruce wants to be Tottenham manager

Whether you think he's good enough for Spurs, I hate it when people look down on people like Bruce or paint him out to be some kind of clown. He's done very very well with Hull this season, he's got them punching into the top half most of the season when a club like that have no right to be anywhere near.

He's also assembled a quality squad for a club of their budget. Their strike force is particularly scary for a club like Hull.

Going by reputation LvG has a philosophy that suits us down to a tee but he also has a massive ego that will suit Man Utd down to a tee. Whilst many will point out AZ I will unhappily point out that David Moyes is a dead man walking, going to have to wait and see on this one, far from certain and really wouldn't be surprised if he ends up at OT after all he has the best CV available atm.

I've been sayng it since the story of van Gaal's availability broke that the media would be full of stories about how he's coming here till the day he's pictured holding up a scarf at Old Trafford. I know many on here think Moyes is still secure because Ferguson wants to remake him in his own image, but I think Man U miss a massive trick if they allow us to get van Gaal and I don't see that happening.

I sort of get that vibe from Sherwood, but I don't want him to manage spurs after the summer....

Re: Steve Bruce wants to be Tottenham manager

I once said he was Fergie's natural successor at Man U. If he did well for us, and Man U came looking you know he'd be off.
