Spur of the moment
Frederic Kanoute
Agree, on its own covering ground can mean very little, you do also need to be effective. But I profoundly disagree with the suggestion that Eriksen hides. Not going to spend hours arguing over it though, we see things differently, let's leave it at that.I don't have a problem with eriksen, I know what he brings to us but I'm also not blind to his faults. He has them, they all do. We don't employ eriksen for tackling and I've defended him on here before for not doing it, or not doing it very well. He is entitled to a bad game the same as everyone, and i will defend him when he does.
What I do have an issue with is just about every player got p elters for yesterday except him, its like he's immune to criticism. Even you've done it to an extent, he covered a lot of ground, big deal, ground covered proves nothing. He was at very best peripheral yesterday, but problem yesterday wasn't just because of eriksen, several looked knackered and arsenal ran us into the ground.
Ultimately, it was a bad day with several reasons for it and it was not down to any one player. We win as a team and we should lose as a team and we should be even handed in our criticism. Not that anything said on here really matters a toss, who listens to us, no one I hope
BTW I have not criticised any of our players for yesterday's poor showing because with many mistakes from practically every player my conclusion was they were spent both mentally and physically. The wins over Chelsea and Milan seemed to have taken their toll. Son was about the only one with any fizz but he has played less than most this week. Whereas Arsenal were fresh because only one of their starting XI played midweek. That kind of preparation often proves critical when teams are otherwise closely matched and so it proved.
