Mohammed Kudus

Is he turning back to allow Porro to catch up so he can pass it for Porro to cross?
I can't see why he is suddenly not running, before he was taking on too many, now he is not taking on anyone.

Yeah, everyone around me at ground yesterday was spitting feathers because it felt like every time Kudus got the ball he'd end up turning to face our goal and pass it backwards :triumph:

He played as though his hamstring had gone
That would just be the icing on the cake of our injury woes, as his driving runs at the start of season were a breath of fresh air.

He did them vs Brentford too
Just looked to me like a player that didn’t know what he was meant to do so reverted to a standard way of instruction

Now i know why West Ham fans were happy to see him leave. tinkle poor and shouldn’t be starting.
Replace him with who though? Johnson? That leaves us with no threat on either wing.
Unless Frank start trusting Odobert on the left then I don't see how we can go without Kudus even if he isn't setting the world alight.

Stick Odobert and Tel on the wings, not going to be any worse. Odobert, Tel and Muani and give them a run, i bet we start looking better going forward.

Would like to see Odobert get more time, but Frank doesn't seem to trust Odobert or Tel so can't see that happening.

I said recently we may as well line up with the 3 Frenchies and see if there's some kind of understanding there than can be developed - but Muani is looking like he'd rather be anywhere else lately

Yeah. Looked quite different to how I remember him earlier in the season at least. If that's instructions he is or isn't clear on how to execute, form or some kind of niggling injury issue I'm not sure. But Kudus having space to run into on the ball against an unsettled opposition and not taking it is not a good look. And while we've seen him struggle to link up with others, not finding the right pass earlier this season this looks different to me.

Not a surprise that he was subbed, which could be seen as a confirmation for any number of explanations.

But guess he'll back to himself again, hopefully sooner rather than later.

Odobert is poor on the right and I don't k ow what you've seen from Tel that makes you think he will do any better?

If you're not feeling Kudus well, we are a bit fudged in that regard. It's another case of having no depth of quality. If we had an competitor for Kudus then a poor game from him might not be so damaging.

There was one instance in the first half where rather than try to make his way around the Liverpool player marking him he quickly crossed the ball into the box. It was a bit overweighted and nothing ultimately came of it, but it showed he can do it and straightaway we had at least a chance of someone heading it closer to goal. If he did that more often…
