I thought it started when Levy wouldn't sell them Adebayor. Gold and Sullivan threw their toys out of the pram and said they'd never sell to us again.

I think it started with us buying Defoe, Kanoute, Carrick etc. They thought of themselves as equals, and we started using them as a feeder club.

It's way older than that .. I had an old school West Ham co-worker a long time ago and they really hate us, really see us as their rival and I was utterly shocked .. like ok, not sure I really care but if you say so ..

You also see it when you go to games, when I'm in season groove, I'll turn up at stadium and be "why the fudge is there so much police?" and then remember, oh, we are playing West Ham.

It's definitely more one way. As you say they hate us.

Levy and Brady definitely don't get on. And I can't imagine Levy gets on or relates to someone like Sullivan.

Plus we have had our fan clashes in years gone by
 
He's not worth the quoted 65m plus at all. Would like to think with our improved scouting we can find someone who can hit double figures in the league for goals and assists (something he has failed to do) for half the price:

I think it was before this that they wouldn't sell us Bellamy even though he wanted to come to Spurs and we agreed to pay the transfer fee they demanded, they ended up selling him to Emirates Marketing Project for a lower fee than we were offering.

Whatever the reason, it doesn't help that their actual close London rivals Millwall and Leyton Orient are at different levels so they needed to find someone to have 'beef' with....
 
Kudus has amazing qualities. Issues are fitness and maybe discipline (see our game). It is a bit left field but he must tick some boxes for the profile we are looking for. And he really wants to come to us apparently.

In terms of WH fans. Their hate for us is visceral. We just think they are spanners

Come on mate, hyperbole, you think you can find a PL player (non striker) who scores double figures in league for ~35M? Hojlund, Havertz, Nkuku, Nunez all say hi!

We aren't buying goals & assists with Kudus (even though he can), we are buying an elite ball carrier, his stats in take ons and successful dribbles are complete outlier stuff

That's the point, I'm not talking about finding a PL player hence our scouting system which scouts a lot of plays from abroad. Yes we all know there are players that you can sign and not work out, there are also plenty that do - if you rate Kudus that highly, he didn't come from the PL and cost 38m.

And yes I'm aware of his traits, but I also happen to think our scouting department is very good these days and could find a player who can dribble but also have better end product. 13 goals and 9 assists in 65 games is poor no matter how you want to dress it up and that's because he doesn't have a football brain....

Sorry but I don’t agree
Grealish best season at Villa was 10 goals and 8 assist in 41 games
That would be roughly 13 goals and 11 assists over 65 games
Kudus has 13 prem goals and 12 assists so very very comparable
Appreciate you will likely to be referring to overseas talent but that could mean you end up with a Bryan Gil or maybe Doku
Dokus stats in the prem are 58 games, 6 goals and 16 assists … that’s playing for city and he cost around €60m plus

IMO… and I’m biased because I really like Kudus at Ajax and never understood why he ended up at west ham, we would be getting a guy who firstly runs with the ball as good as any player in the division. He also shoots really well. His creativity is a bit hit and miss but I’d also put that down to coaches and players he would be supplying. For us he would be a perfect signing for what were lacking
