Modric - No Longer A Spurs Player

Dunno steff. I'm not buying this theory that he's been told to go on strike. Seems like a conspiracy theory and I just don't do them.

okay, so what is the issue here. nothing i have said is incorrect, both you and he were guys that said he hadnt done anything, sheihk and myself said he had, obviously we 'reached' based on the evidence at hand......reached about as far as an ants leg..but hey we seemed to get there in the end without being needing to get spoon fed the info

i dont even want to vilify, i just want him to leave on our terms without people trying to ...i dont know what word it is that describes people that know an answer but stretch out the questions with just being pedantic and looking for loop holes to survive an argument for as long as they can knowing that the other side is most probably right...there is a word for that kind of thing but i cant quite bag it.

fact of the matter is that luka was being disruptive , you can get to this conclusion EASILY. by the way, those quotes from AVB werent the first ones, but they were the first ones that had to spell it out for us so that people like you and little luka could keep this situation running where modric was some kind of misjudged prisoner of war. he never was and it was extremely obvious to see this, at least to me anyway.

having said all that, i've seen the papers tell some BIG ASS LIES

the guy is being an ass to get a move..thats HIS business and he can do what he wants, just as we can do what we want...tel him to shut the fudge up, he's under contract..he leaves at OUR price or he doesnt leave at all.

Do you genuinely believe that Luka Modric is acting alone? Because that's at the heart of the discussion here IMHO, whether people believe he is acting alone or acting under advisement from people under whom he has some curiously strong and convincing spell with regards to how he goes about his business.

I would like to say that Luka Modric's CAMP ARE BEING DISRUPTIVE. In my opinion, it is foolish to think the player is acting alone and independently of any outside advice/counsel/strategy.

Steff particularly seems to have gone to lengths to try and absolve Modric.

Thats the only real issue I have, I cant buy into it at all.

I do agree Modrics behaviour is appalling - if what is reported is true.

IF Madrd are being underhand as reported I think its shameful of them.

It is however quite possible things are moving along without drama as well...

Wrong. Where am I absolving him? All I have tried to do is explain the ENTIRE situation. My ire was raised again when someone decided it'd be very amusing to go back and take the tinkle out of my observations on Mamic from last year, further saying that I would hide behind the board's content-loss and deny what I'd said.

I don't run from my opinions. I try to support them. In this case I did. No-one is prepared to acknowledge that. I personally find that amazing, but there ya go, cannot alter that. I cannot help but wonder if a mod is going to end up modding me soon!

Not really a conspiracy theory really..

You want to move clubs, you ask your agent how, your agent says other players have had success by 'striking', you decide to follow your agents advice and strike.

And now for everyone who is going by AVB quotes, here you go...

"It's the first time unfortunately for Luka that he takes these actions. I think the chairman and myself have been very open by saying we are willing to listen to offers for the player, which is uncommon, I think. He's had many interests in the past like last year but he has always behaved professionally. We never doubted his human qualities so we don't know what kind of advice he's receiving."

Do I REALLY need to go ANY further? There's our manager TELLING YOU that the player has been getting a healthy ration of behavioral flimflam from his "side"...

I just posted an AVB quote which virtually confirms everything I've tried to say...I wish people (not saying you necessarily mate) would see that I am not defending the guy per se, i am just stating that he is not a lone operator...

Just heard the AVB interview and I thought he handled the situation quite well, despite all the leading questions.

And for some reason I got a strange satisfaction seeing Modric turning up at the lodge for training today :~

Saying he's not acting alone is a lot different from saying he's being forced to do things by a member of the mafia though!

Funny how some people will choose to believe one thing or person over another. We're now supposed to take our Manager's musings as gospel, when last season we were meant to take them as lies.

I'm just glad that AVB and the club took a stand published their views. I'm also very happy to see AVB capable of holding his own on difficult issues, and still able to put forward a unified view of club and manager.

It doesn't matter if modric acted alone or came under ill advice - he shouldn't have gone AWOL. If I were Levy I'd continue to fine him everyday for missing the US trip.

If Modric really wants to go, he can always pay the difference between what Real is offering and what THFC's price is. It boils down to money, and Modric and his agent are the only ones to blame.

Not the same person though, is it?

No, but as we don't know these people personally our judgements should remain consistant from one to another. Basically it's not one rule for one, and one for another. This isn't a pick n' mix of what you choose to believe to suit your beliefs. I'm just finding the sheer hypocrisy of the situation amusing.

Spanish radio: Luka’s back because Madrid told him so after DL told them there were no further negotiations in that scenario

Not ME sunshine, this was for the benefit of everyone else who said that AVB's earlier quotes had "proven" it was all Modric. Keep UP MLK, come on son!!!!! ;-)

BTW, congratulations for shoehorning "him" in again, top drawer old chap!
:D

(sigh)...maaaate...how's this? He's not acting alone and his "advisors" are mafioso-type Croatian thugs IMHO. How's that?

IF you are referring to me MLK, be a big boy and say so. Healthy debate relies on full disclosure mate. Now, let me make very clear that I don't EVER fully believe what a manager says IN THESE SITUATIONS. My quoting of AVB was for the previously stated purpose. My beliefs on how Luka Modric behaves and WHY have remained consistent since this first came up last year. Even YOU can't deny that. Now, what I'd LOVE to see is you acknowledging that, in this specific case IF you were referring to me, that you were wrong. It's not a bad thing, we're ALL wrong once in a while mate...

Just to make this clear for everyone, Real Madrid did not pick up the phone and call Luka Modric's cell. They contacted his agent/reps.

But fantastically, Levy has won again!!!!! Looks like Modric/his people have been forced to accept his conduct is unbecoming to anyone looking on. NOW would be a GREAT time for Luka to sack his reps, but he will not be able to, even though deep down, I feel he would rather sign a new deal for more money and get the fudge on with his Spurs career given that it appears Madrid have lost their "cheap-down" game...I would not be alarmed to see Madrid finally give in, but at least this shows everyone not to try fudging with Levy again...

the big difference so far is that AVB is consistent in his opinion

Redknapp would say one thing one day and the complete opposite the next time he gave his opinion.......inconsistency loses respect
