Modric - No Longer A Spurs Player

I really don't understand this attitude, I have no issues selling him to RM as long as they match our valuation. I'd also be happy if we can keep them sweet and continue to pick up their cast offs.

What I meant is that I really do not care who he signs for, as long as it is outside the EPL.

If he has his heart set on Real Madrid, but they are not willing to stump up the cash that Levy feels is warranted for a player like Modric, then if PSG or anyone else for that matter came in and met Levy's valuation, then he should be sold there.

I dont get all this player power when they are under contract. If he does not want to go to say PSG then tough! Knuckle down and put a shift in until RM are prepared to up their offer.

Exactly! MLK thinks we all have memories like goldfish it seems.

Harry made the situation much more difficult and dragged it thru the media much more than it needed to be. NOONE suggested anything other than that!

And there goes your argument. I won't name and shame but :

"modders clearly doesn't want to play for the saggy faced **** but i bet he would play for another manager"
"Redknapp has sold him down the river and I have been reliably informed that Modric wants Redknapp gone and he'll stay if he gets his wish"

Were you on messageboards during the Campbell saga? I was and there were a LOT of posters claiming that Campbell was being manipulated by his "evil" agent.

And of course people are in denial. A lot of people always are, especially when it comes to emotional topics. They can't seperate the emotion from a fact, and they are easy to spot because they are the ones who refuse to ever be critical of their favourite even if they have a bad match.

I was and I don't remember people blaming Sky Andrews anymore than judas. People hated them both equally as they both bare faced lied they're way to being multi millionaires.

It seems to me your making things up to back your own agenda.

It is clear to me that we are NOT going to agree on WHO is the driving force behind Luka Modric's transfer saga, furthermore, it feels to me like we're sliding back into Harryland again, so can I suggest to everyone (including that argumentative taco thfcsteff!!!!) that we steer things back to the try PRESENT day and get back to discussing whether we think he is going to go or not?

My vote is that...I now don't know!!!!

Anyone else?

I edited my previous post (see above);
Can you name any more examples of a manager playing 'good cop' in this kind of scenario?

Off the top of my head no. But then off the top of my head I can't remember another situation like this full stop. And whether there is historical precedence in this is utterly irrelevant anyway.

You're talking POST move to Arsenal. I am talking PRE move to Arsenal, when he was still a Spurs player but clearly going to move on.

Guys GUYS, can we also NOT let this thread stoop into a revisitation of the S** C******* saga? Can we also move on? back to the topic?

Everyone here knows that Luka wants to go, regardless of what his agent is telling him. Yet again TMK is derailing a thread, it's like some guy telling a load of wrestling fans that wrestling is fake whilst strangely taking some amusement from it.

Bit like when Larry told the two kids (whose Dad is a wrestler) on Curb Your Enthusiasm that wrestling is fixed and took great pleasure from it.

Let him rot in the reserves

It will be interesting to see what the chairman does, because again, this is not the time in his life to be playing games of brinksmanship! I still get the feeling a deal will be done, and would've been done already had Madrid not got dirtier I do wonder whether there's been some talk of "if the price gets forced through lower, you will get a cut of the difference"?

I've never seen those posts, when were they posted? tbf I could probably quote the posters Bale and Lennon and then try and pass them off as being the standard bearer's for this board, I'd be completely stupid to do so though as they're clearly WUM's.

i don't know how it's slipped in to a Campbell discussion tbh - don't see the parallels myself

personally the more Modric (whether that be the player himself or the others) kicks up a fuss the more i want us to force him to stay - out of principal - no use doing what we did last season if we are going to fold this summer.

it's strange really because a week or so back before all this started i was thinking that it was going to be a smooth deal as it just seemed a case of the two Clubs agreeing a fee - now he has seemingly decided to kick up a fuss and it's all got messy - personally id say that it looks as though Real can't agree with what Levy wants so Luka has been told to make life difficult for us, not that that excuses in him any way I just don't see him doing it off his own back if he can see we are negotiating a deal for the transfer

Hands up all those who knew Campbell was "clearly going to move on".............

Not sure you'll see many hands here, MK. Isn't that a big part of our dis-like?..the fact that no-one saw him going following his claims of love of all things Tottenham?
