Mitt Romney the next new leader of the free world!!!

:D
It's all over now except to sit back and watch the results (hopefully no recounts....) so I'm also not in the mood for talking about politics for a while. But I think I did make it clear that while I do defend Obama, I do it mostly because he's the "best" electable choice, IMO, which is rather unflattering.
Come tomorrow, it will be interesting to see the reactions from other posters. That, and Fox News yammering about busloads of people committing voter fraud to get Obama re-elected.

People have their right to opinions. Every view has an equally valid counter-view. Speak loudly enough and you can create you own reality: a creationist universe, global warming as an anti-American fraud, Mitt Romney as a job creating businessman.

Barack Obama actually being born in this country, not being a socialist, etc..

Damn those commie-pinko Hawaiians with their pineapples and... volcanoes.

I honestly believe that Obama is neither a Muslim nor a Christian. Not that it should even matter, but I do think that deep down inside he is atheist or agnostic. Bill Maher predicted that Obama would come out for gays and come out of the atheism closet. He's already been right on one of those counts.

Another prediction polling site.

I wouldn't trust it though, it comes from the liberal indoctrination prison known as a "university".

I don't see Obama as overtly religious, but he was associated with that mega-church in Chicago (Jeremiah Wight?). Can that have been all for show.

Its funny, in the US its strange when politicians aren't strongly religious, or should I say claim to be, while in the UK we get suspicious when our politicians start getting religious and sharing toothpaste (not a euphemism).

It's really a shame, but i think it's going to be changing slowly. But if your political career depends on you being a religious person and a caring family person, sure you'll put on a show.
Do you think politicians kneel at their bedsides every night begging their GHod for forgiveness for all the lies they've told and people they've deceived?

Gonna be a big night! Either Mitt is going to save this country or we're going to continue to devolve into Greece. Come on!!!!!!

Are you part of the $250k a year club who will 'benefit' from his tax 'policies'? And I cannot wait to see this diplomat at work on foreign policy. If Mitt Romney is elected, America will take several very dark, backward steps.

NYSpur...as a supporter of Romney, what can you honestly say this man will do for the US if he is elected? Serious question. Because all I've heard from him are a serious of soundbite platitudes which show as much reality as believing Stephen Hawking will shoot a 6 pointer against the Lakers at the weekend...

See the page before this where I discussed, 1) that I like trolling, 2) that I didn't want to discuss why I was voting for Romney this election, nor why I voted for Obama in 2008.

Indeed, proof positive that a fair few Americans have little concept of the difference between socialism and communism...how sad.

The libertarians claim that there's not much difference between Obama and Romney. While very untrue - the course of this nation will be shaped by the next president - Obama is still fairly right-of-center, not far off from Romney. Especially when it comes to his more 'controversial' policies in dealing with terrorists, specifically the American ones, or not repealing the Patriot Act. I wish he was more socialist, but the truth is we've already got socialist elements in our society, which I believe is rooted in the notion that we are stronger if we pull together instead of let everyone fend for themselves when tough times fall upon them. This is why I have such great disdain for Mitt "I throw poor people into puddles so I don't have to get my shoes soiled" Romney.
Charity my ass, giving money to the Mormon church is NOT charity. It's selfish and actually allows him to pay lower taxes. He can fudge off back to Kolob.

What's a six pointer? Some sort of weird time is not linear flimflam I presume. Someone said were all made of strings too. Down with intelligence!!!!!

It's a basketball reference. The most a player can score on one shot (without being fouled simultaneously), is three points. He was saying it's as preposterous as Steven Hawking scoring a "six-pointer" in the NBA.

Just got back from the polls, and now I'm cracking open a beer and am about to roll a fattie as I get ready to watch the coverage.

The Democrats should be getting the senate majority, not that that matters anymore unless it's 60-40, which is not happening. Republicans will most likely keep the House. No matter what, it's going to be a loooooong night.

I'm watching CNN's coverage in a bar while drinking Harpoon and having a bite to eat before flying home tonight. The most interesting part has been the exit polls they've seemingly conducted. Very... Err... Interesting.

Aside from the straightforward ones from state to state, they have numerous others including:

Amongst conservatives
Amongst liberals
Fathers - huh?! (evidently a preference for Romney)
People who go to church weekly - wtf?!! (obviously prefer Romney)
People who have never been to church - seriously, wtf?!!' (back Obama)

What other wonderful categories of voters have they got up their sleeves? I've probably missed a few. The beer... Errr... I mean excitement, is getting to me.

Obama is really more a European style leader hence why he is massively popular over here. He would absolutely smash it over here but the yanks like a bit of protectionism over their own turf so it doesn't go down as well.

Lots of talk saying youngsters aren't turning out this time round harming Obama, still think he will scrape through.
