Mauricio Pochettino - Sacked

questions to answer after the last 4 games, we've looked like relegation candidates, an unprecedented collapse even for us

if we don't start next season well the knives will be out

He's a win or nothing man. After Stoke there was no win. 2nd or 3rd loser doesn't matter to a winner.

I'm not having that, there has been a clear change in the effort of the players in the last 4 games

something has gone on in that dressing room

I'm starting to feel the same. I think something has happened before the Chelsea game, because the way we behaved in that wasn't normal.

We lost the title at Stoke. There was no consolation after that. We hit a psychological wall.

if this is how that group of players behave after having their favourite toy taken away we have real real problems

look at how Saudi Sportswashing Machine reacted to the fight being over

I'm not advocating firing the bloke, season targets have been exceeded, but I have concerns and I doubt I'm alone

I think he messed up making up that Spurs dont need to finish above Arsenal. Ermmm we do. Especially this season - if truly he loves the club like the supporters. Yup we do. Barcelona do not want Real to finish above them. Real do not want Atletico to finish above them. Utd dont want City above them. Liverpool do not want Everton above them and vice versa.

Spurs do not want Arsenal above them. He tried to reduce the pressure on the boys but they didnt wake up.

As I said earlier - he messed up making this statement.

Sigh. Welcome to the bottlers' club, Poch. You join an illustrious list of managers before you, including Harry Redknapp and Martin Jol, among others. No shame in bottling it at a bottling club, with the most mentally fragile players on the planet. But you are still a part of that illustrious list, no two ways about it. The list of managers beaten to the punch by Arsene Wenger.

And you're no better than Redknapp, at least in terms of points. How that could have happened after a season where you had it all in your hands heading into the final stretch just...defies explanation.

Maybe you'll escape that list next season. But today, you were brought low by your team, and this become as s.p.U.r.s.y as the rest.

For now. Making sure it's only a temporary thing is now your aim.

right. so if at some point we are 20 points off the top we will start losing 5-1 every week? if hes a winner why couldnt we manage to get three points from games against wba, soton, chelsea and Saudi Sportswashing Machine to finish as high as possible in the league?

something bizarre is going on. chelsea was mental, the rest was brick.

I think the answer is that we have a lot of very tired players and our back ups aren't good enough for a title challenge. Losing Dembele and Alli certainly didn't help.

The most important lesson this season should be that we need a stronger squad, because our way of playing is very physically demanding.

Didn't Soton collapse similarily undwr Poch too?

He needs to learn from this. I think we got too psyched up over the title. Older experienced managers would push away all title talk and focus on the game itself. Just play the game in front of you. Instead we got pulled into the hype and stopped focusing solely on our game - which we did well prior. Add to that missing Demeble, Alli even Rose.

All in all we should be ecstatic Poch has committed to the club. Despite the capitulation, he has done much to raise expectations, and the club should be back stronger because, not in spite, of him. He has my complete confidence. Partly as I know he will analyse and learn.

I don't think it's physical - I think the players collapsed mentally after falling out on the title race and haven't picked themselves up well enough

the annoying thing is we didnt lose dembele or alli. they are perfectly healthy picking 100k a month for sitting on their arses.
going for the title sent us mental, like we thought it was a street fight or something. then after that, we just turned into colchester united. bizarre. fudging bizarre. the worst thing is we wont even get answers and will simply have to stew.

Tottenham were Tottenham this season. Nothing has really changed. We were just fortunate that Emirates Marketing Project, Chelsea and Man Utd had poor seasons.
