Luka Vuskovic

I think it is fair to say we have had young youngsters up to now. Last season our centre half options in an injury crisis, Phillips and Dorrington, were 18 years old. If that happens next season they'll be twenty year olds. In Phillips case he would have completed 2 Championship loans and hopefully be way more ready for 1st team action.

It won't be so long before we have a clutch of U21s who are actually 20 or 21.
There's nothing stopping 18 starting top tier games. Cubasi is 18 years old, Varane was playing for Lens at 17 and bought by Real Madrid by the time he was 20. History is littered with good enough young players, so the truth either our young CBs are not good enough (maybe yet, maybe never) or the coach didn't believe they were ready again rightly or wrongly.

Age is no barrier to playing if the playing is of sufficient quality, we've seen that ourselves with Bergvall and Gray to an extent. But obviously the quality has to be there in the first place along with the support and belief of the coach. We haven't had both of these things.

In summary it's nice that we have a number of young players but their age alone is no guarantee of a finished product. If they aren't getting significant minutes now then they might never because if they were indeed talents above the standard they would be playing right now.

Id like to think we'd give him the chance to be a first teamer next season BUT, as we had in Anges first season, without Europe there is a severe lack of games and quite often the youngsters struggle to shift the experienced guys.

before we get too far ahead of ourselves...

The on-loan Tottenham man told Sportske Novosti: “In my game, I am satisfied with everything except one thing – speed. I work on improving it every day.”

Of course with the right coach that knows how to maximize players talents it may not be a huge issue
That quote was 4 months ago. He might be like Usain Bolt by August.

Only way we should allow a loan is if it's to a top league, and he's going to get play time (hard to guarantee)

This kid is right up there, like Gray/Bergvall, can be part of first team conversation.
true - i am thinking that he'd struggle in the stupidly high line if ange persists with it

Having a look at him in preseason, then whoever is manager deciding what to do seems like the way to go for sure.

Another special talent, need to manage his development well. Would love for him to be ready for first team football (squad option) for us. But if he's not ready for that that's also fine.

It will also depend on who is staying from the CB's we have.

Romero
VDV
Dragusin
Danso
Davies
Vuskovic

Looks a good squad depth, but how much time will Vuskovic get?

But if Davies and/or Romero go then he gets more of a chance. And we need to see what Dragusin is like once he is fit again.

But I think Vuskovic gets into the first team by the end of next season.

I feel pretty sure Davies will go, and Vuskovic or Phillips will stay in the first team squad until Dragusin is back. Then they’ll maybe go on loan for second half of season.

We don't need 5 senior CBs, esp with Gray and Spence able to cover there too. I'd probably sell Philips (and have Dorrington on recallable loan)

From my point of view no harm in loaning Phillips - even if we eventually sell him, we might get more for him after a further loan. He’s still young.

I think it depends whether Phillips can go on the UEFA B-list or not. I still can't figure that out. If he can then he's an incredibly useful squad player to have.

What we do know is that Vuskovic has to go on the A-list and there might not be space. That stops him from being such a useful squad player in the bigger picture.

I'm expecting Vuskovioc to be with the first team squad for the first half of the season. Once he's assimilated, then we'll loan him out,
