Joe Rodon

Hope it works out for him. What should have been a good move to us seemed to have just left him stagnating.
A good loan and hopefully we can extract the full option-fee. Would be nice to get something out of Rennes after the ECL saga last season (not that I’m bitter or anything. Probably did us a favour really).
 
Would be a great deal for us, assuming he plays. Either they pay us €20m at the end of it, or we have a player who is more sellable or more useful for us

I think he only works in a very deep line, so hopefully that's how Rennes play.

Think it's a good destination for him. Rennes have been decent in the last few years and have European football again next season (EL)

Potential?
He was 23 when he joined. He's 25 in a few months.
People have always like he was some kid when he's older than Romero.
He was a terrible transfer from Levy and Hitchen.
They absolutely fudged up that window bringing in two players who have played pretty much their entire career in the English leagues but don't qualify as homegrown in Europe. It's incompetence.

Potential doesn’t always mean age, Perisic has the potential to be a good player for us.

Jose never wanted him so was never likely to play him. Conte has since decided he's not up to snuff.

Could very well be a good destination for him.

Think it's fairly unlikely that we get a French team to pay a fee we'd be happy with at the end of that loan. English clubs are probably not going to be more convinced about paying up after a year in France when if he does well, compared to a loan to a PL club.

He'll get games at a high level though, hopefully get his career back on track.

They have an owner who is richer than every prem owner bar 2 oil clubs

I thought that when Jose left the club he apparently told Lloris to look after Rodon, Because he was gonna be a special player.

Does seem weird though that he didn't get more playing time if he rated him that highly.
