Joao Palhinha

Not overly bother by the other side of the game at this point.

We desperately need someone with his defensive brain/ability.

Let the others bring the other stuff.

He improves the team/squad

Having a specialist defensive player in midfield is a good thing re squad options, even if on the ball he's possibly not at the level to be starting week in week out, we will have plenty of tough games where you need to be hard to beat first and foremost - away to the top 6, away games in Europe etc beefing up that side of our game is a good route to getting more points on the board

Main takeaway from this video is that he is excellent on the defensive side but lacking/limited elsewhere
That video doesn’t really show many positives, i assume the clips are not very good ones. All of his tackles were reckless and just seems to throw himself at the ball and hope for the best. I hope the guy in the video put poor highlights up on purpose.

It doesn't seem like we can get the calibre of say an Ederson who can do the progressive stuff along with having the defensive nous so for now and especially on loan a player who covers the defensive aspect is probably a good profile to have in the squad as don't really have that currently.

Ideally I'd want a progressive passer there especially as we have seen already Frank's Tottenham are much more willing to do big switches of the play, so someone with that capability would be ideal but if we can't get that player I'll take a defensive monster and pick between him and Bentancur on a per game and situation basis.

Bryan Robson was christened "Captain Marvel" by media for his reckless and poor tackling technique, it was why he got injured often.

It annoys me that people call him Paulinha rather than Palhinha.
Even this thread title is wrong.

At the Reading game the Spurs fan behind me was talking about "Kudos".
Predictably he didn't know who Devine and Donley were.

That's another one, Donley, not Donely nor Donelly nor Donnelly.
calm down, get a grip, honestly it’s going to be ok. Zakora said so. Life is short. Don’t let the idioms get you this riled. Autocorrect is wonders in your space
