ITK Thread

So AAS and QIA are Qataris

And Niger Petra probably means Black Rock.

None of it is probably true but it's always fun to read

I'm ITK!

Casillas will almost certainly be playing in the PL next season (and not for Spurs!).

Was in the same shop as him recently, he's even got a UK private plate on his Range Rover. He wouldn't tell me where he's going, but his reaction when I said I'm a Spurs fan makes me scared that it's the goons.

In other news, he hates Burberry but his other half loves it.

Iker Casillas? I fudging pray its the goons, had huge respect for the guy, but he is an absolute liability now, hasn't been a decent keeper for about 3 years now.

Would be right in line with Wenger's keeper blindness, no fudging idea what the guy sees in the keepers they buy.

Even on current form he's an upgrade for them.

Huddlestone22 on SC:

So I spoke to my friend regarding Townsend:

He says that Townsend wants to stay at Tottenham but isn't convinced he'll get played consistently. He'd prefer a loan move while his heart is still set on Tottenham but it's more than likely we'd push for a sale.

Love Townsend's desire and love for the club. It's one of those sad situations where if he were a better player we'd have a position locked down for the next few years, because like Kane he wants to be at the club.

Maybe we need to show some loyalty back, he still has talent, and by all accounts is willing to work on his short comings, so let's try to make it work for him, otherwise how can we complain when the next Carrick, berbs, modric, bale, leaves us for other clubs?

And people forget that Bale had 3 poor-to-medium seasons with us before the pieces fell into place for him

Normally I agree with giving players time, however Townsend has played nearly 90 games for us and he still has the same faults in his game. I am not sure he will ever learn to get his head up instead of running into blind alleys.

He played with his head up and produced some excellent service again for England today.

It really does seem a psychological thing. He corpses playing for us, but excels when the pressure is off for England.

I must admit I have not seen the England game as I had better things to do, maybe because his love of the club he trys to hard to impress. Either way I fail to see any improvement in his game for us and doubt I will after nearly 90 games.

I think its exactly that.

The England game today was dreadful, but Townsend and Barkley coming off the bench really changed things and gave us some impetus - about the only positive in the match

I'd still give Townsend another year. As mentioned above, it took Bale till his 4th season. One of him or Lamela should hopefully nail it next term (if not both)

Difficult for both to improve really as only one will play at any given time and while the other is sitting on the bench or not in the squad which will do nothing to improve them. I like townsend the man, but having seen so many games where he just does not produce I tend to think he has had his chance. I think Lamela will prove to be a cleverer player given time.

Agree, and a decent coach in theory should like the chance to train a young player who works hard, is two footed, has very good dribbling skills and, whilst not blessed with devasting pace, has very good acceleration. Townsend has his flaws, but those are pretty good raw ingredients.

I'd also add that why Utd were at their peak under SAF, they kept a number of home-grown players who were committed to the cause, like Phil Neville. Townsend is a good squad player for us

That's rewriting history a little bit there mate, it was quite obvious Bale had something to him ..

But I get the idea, if pressure to perform for Spurs is Townsends problem, then a short loan might help him
