When was you told out of curiosity? I only ask because apparently Simons has had an agreement for weeks with Chelsea, so it could just be something has changed since what your guy had heard...

Last night, guy is PL liaison in London so does all the pre match liaison with clubs in the week at their training ground runs the technical area at a designated match in London. He is not infallible to being wrong or things changing, but he is a serious bloke, knows his stuff and just says what he knows. Generally we chew the fat about tit bits about things that happen round TGs not transfers. But I did ask on this one.

Every time I have watched him he looks a player who is having fun with amazing skill. To your point, that defensive mindset looked like it needs growth (I mean his entire game does obviously he's a kid) but I just wonder if he has some cameos in him this season? I agree, bench for Doncaster might be a move..:

I wouldn't say its a top signing if Chelsea have chosen Garnacho over him. I'd say Garnacho is a good player. I like him. Although I always kind of feel he's one of those players that kind of looks threatening as he is quite direct with his runs but if you analyse what he actually contributes to a game it never really amounts to much. Its kind of like the opposite to Brennan Johnson. "Garnacho's been lively...even though we lost and he didnt score and assist" versus "What did Brennan do again this game other than score the winner?"
