Injuries

Every time he is on the pitch, chasing around, I just wince and wait for something to rupture.
Mind you, I feel that way for most of our players nowadays, just waiting for the agonised collapse to the floor.
But with him he needs his legs replacing
It’s one thing, then another, then another
Mad

I thought I saw somewhere that Odobert is due returning soon? Not sure if correct. VDV should be considered back, right? Romero supposedly fit late Feb. Solanke also supposedly due back late Feb. Not sure about Udogie, Johnson and Maddison. But we should be closer to a fully fit team pretty soon, although, knowing our luck, we're gonna get a few injuries in the meantime, no doubt.

Uh yeah and no
Some are due back next week
But then some others will get injured again
That is what happens when you manage the squad so badly as a club

So no chance of anyone new back for Villa? I'm confused, Is that what he's saying?

That’s the official line, unless he’s going to surprise us…

Ange Postecoglou doesn’t expect to have any of our injured players back for Sunday’s FA Cup tie at Aston Villa, with Richarlison the latest to pick up a problem.

The forward went down holding his leg towards the end of the first half of Thursday evening’s Carabao Cup defeat to Liverpool at Anfield, with our Head Coach revealing after the game that the Brazil international has suffered a calf injury.

Speaking to the media this morning (Friday 7 February) ahead of our return to FA Cup action at the weekend, Ange said that in addition to Richarlison, it’s as we were in terms of unavailable players when we head to Villa Park.

I think there's a big focus on the EL.

I think since the start of the season I also had an eye on that as the one we could most likely win. Even the Carabao Cup you have to usually beat two of the top quality sides to win it. There are good sides in the EL but not at the level of a Emirates Marketing Project/Liverpool etc.

I'm not going to be dismissive/arrogant and suggest Spurs are better or above any of them but there is no one in there that I look at and think with a close to full squad (yeah I know, wishful thinking) we could not beat. Despite the ridiculous injuries we've had throughout this tournament, we ended up finishing fourth - two points off top of the table. Get the majority of our squad back to fitness and take less gambles, prioritise this competition, and we really do have a chance....

I booked my hotel for the final last October

With qualifying directly to the last 16...the timing (potentially) really suits us as well. That March 6th restart date fits in nicely with having some free midweeks and the majority of everyone returning. It's only 7 games to win it, and being two legged ties you don't have to be perfect in every game.

I say potentially as new injuries are still a hazard ....Radu one week...Richie the next etc etc.

Manchester Utd v Lazio final it is then :D....
United are brick
Lazio are decent
Bilbao will want to make the final at home
As I’ve said loads, it’s two legs so a lifeline
With a moderately fit squad we are a team that can chase games down and we have goals
People think it’s about clean sheets but it’s about scoring in knock out football

This
If you do the maths Bilbao are the top side currently in it and will want that home final
Lazio are next
But both those sides will also have league agendas to think about too
And they will face us or united along the way and other decent sides

Gotta hope United don't start looking better by May. I suppose there's a good chance they get knocked out before then ....with the way they are playing. Just awful.
Everyone keeps on saying united will turn the corner
Don’t see it myself and even if they do we are better than them
We have a squad comfortably good enough for a much better the finish than united like for like
Injuries have decimated us
I’d also fancy us against them in a knock out as they are crumbly team

Yes, they certainly don't worry me.

It's amazing how the whole 'fear of Old Trafford' ....has dissipated to absolutely nothing.
