Injuries

I think it is more that an ACL injury used to pretty much mean end of career and therefore you naturally tended to remember hearing about the injury. I suspect there's no real difference in the frequency of occurence.
Late 80s the operation came in i think. Gazza's was quite early on in its history

That's weird, We were told a couple days ago that Odobert would be lucky to make it back towards the end of the season. Good news if true though

Yeah, I think it was O'Keefe said he was a long way away. After that, I wasn't expecting to see much of him this season, but he did post a week a go with his boots on at the training ground. So hopefully

The numbers are correct but they class a one game injury the same as 8 weeks so it doesn't give the true extent of injuries per team.
Yes, that is a deliberately misleading way of calculating the impact of injuries, to tell a certain story. Missing 1 game with a small strain vs missing 8 months with a serious injury is so massively different it is like comparing ants with elephants.

Also losing 8 players over a 10 game period for 1 game each is vastly different to losing 1 player for 8 games over the same period.
Now multiply that by 6 and you have our six long term injuries against another club's 48 1 game misses.

As dingdongo said, it's far more accurate to see the table of days lost through injury. Number of injuries and players injured alongside that would also give a little context.
