Ingerlund

It really is about time out players wised up. With England they will only ever be canon fodder for a squad that will achieve nothing of note.
Stick to your club boys and glory can be yours.

“James, if anyone, deserves a rest because he's played so many games for Liverpool, and taken on the captaincy [in Jordan Henderson’s absence]. The rest will do him good and it's the right moment for Jonjo Shelvey to show what he can do again. Wayne Rooney and Michael Carrick are injured.”

So Milner deserves a rest after playing many games for Liverpool and will not travel to Lithuania.

Okay then.

But a clearly tired Harry Kane, who has played more football than anyone else in the last year, taken part in Euro under-21 in the summer and only returned to preseason 2 weeks before
Premier League kickoff, will go to this meaningless, deadrubber football match.

Mind-boggling

The reasoning given is incomplete, but the decision makes sense.

We know what Milner can do, he is not going to get better. Kane is still a bit of an unknown for England and a hope for the future. He is also off-form and in need of goals, which might be easier with England than in the PL. There is competition for Euro places and Kane's prospects depend in part on what he can do in an England shirt. Milner's place probably depends on fitness and form of others.

Can someone please explain to me why Lallana is even close to the England team? The guy's been total pants for 1 and a half season!

Too many players playing for their place rather than playing for the team The number of times players have got in to good positions only for the ball to be held up rather than passed to them, O-C being the biggest culprit of them all.

Looks like England may start with four of our lads on Tuesday (Walker, Kane, Alli and Andros) - could easily have also added Rose and Dier to that lot (and perhaps Ryan) if they were selected.

Have the dippers had a word? Is Hodgo still on dippers pay-roll?

Well done to ED on his debut. How brick was Sterling though? Didn't protect Walker at all and offered nothing to Harry.

He was OK but the team was a mess.
We lack basic team cohesion and direction.
Roy is on a hiding to nil - we as fans in England don't now care about England anymore in the main.
It was a freindly and Spain made us look like a bunch of inexperienced first timers- which we were.

Worse spain team for 10 years as well.

I am not expecting England to be world beaters, we are a little country but I do not see why we can not play attacking football even if our players are limited. I have been bored watching England since hoddle left.

Wish Glenn was still manager - then we would not have him as a pundit. Yes we get Glenn we are not as good as Spain, now shut up!

England have a poor team with some very average players in it, but as usual the media hype us up when in all honesty we do not have any real top players anymore. Personally I never get too interested in the games anymore ( I used to go quite a lot at one time). The decline started for me when the so called " golden generation" was hyped to the eyeballs and the whole thing turned into a traveling circus, Sven and Goldenballs loved it and encouraged a lot of it. Then Sven decided to take two injured players ( Rooney and Owen) a giraffe ( Crouch) and a 16 year old kid to a major tournament and that did it for me.

I know they are fans and pundits who blame Roy but in all honesty our players are nowhere good enough. ( imo).

As a caveat to this - it was a friendly and Roy rightly had a look at some players.
Conclusions reached - Carrick is finished! Lallana is too slow and lightweight. Alli is (I think?) is too young.

L'Equipe is apparently reporting Tuesday's match against France is off.

An opportunity for a few days off, or an impomptu match - probables against possibles, or a friendly kick-about against a scratch word side (insurance probably the killer here).

England training and no injuries for our four would suit me.

Agree
Apparently it goes ahead?

So SKY banner has it from Frog FA, my earlier was from BBC reporting L'Equipe.

As has been said before, you can't believe everything you read .... especially when they contradict themselves.

It would have been wrong to cancel.
