I don't think England can attract a manager that's enough of a name for all the players to respect him. At least not one that's semi-competent.

What has Pearce done as a manager to earn the respect of the players?

It's not his managerial record they'd respect it's everything about the man. Lets just stick with Hodgson eh??!

If Pearce is such an inspirational man, why has this not translated into success in his previous managerial jobs?

I don't think that Hodgson has done a lot wrong as England manager. We are playing a lot better football than when he took over. He picked a young and attacking squad for the world cup and has largely given those players a chance to show what they can do. We have seen none of the off field dramas that have so often accompanied England in the build up to and during a tournament. What let us down at this world cup was the quality of the players and changing manager is not going to change that.

While I agree Roy has not done to much wrong, frankly I am of the opinion he does not have the tools to do a great job anyway. But I do not think he set up an attacking team.

In fact I would say we were a little defensive but I am ok with that, my view are defending was not good enough and the few chances we have had we did not take. Not his fault he does not have very good players to choose from. Who ever takes over in future will have even less to choose from.

why would they respect Pearce, he's done nothing as a manager and most of them are to young to remember him at his best as a player

I thought they were making the finals 40 teams from the next WC, we would have to be really poor not to qualify

Should be the best manager we can get, being able to speak English should be required, but you'd really turn down someone like Jose if he wanted it, or flavour of the month Martinez?

I'd give Roy Euro 2016, hopefully once Stevie Me has been put out to grass we'll see an improvement from playing with the full 11 players.

Maybe a lot better is an exaggeration but there has certainly been an improvement and he has achieved this whilst bringing in a lot of young players.

Do you think that Gary Neville could have the same inspirational qualities as Pearce?

Younger players same mentality as far as I could see. Both Italy and Uruguay beat us and, despite being good teams, I don't think we should have lost either and I believe mentality is the key. No I don't think Neville should even be involved. He's a good pundit that's it as far as I'm concerned.

Hodgson and Lewington are so outdated its not even funny IMO.
