I "was" a fan of Lost Prophets, been to several of their concerts and saw them when they headlined at Donnington a few years back. After this though i feel sick and will never buy any more of their music or see them live. I know its only one member of the band, but that guy has fudged up the rest of their careers if he is convicted. They say any news is good news, but not in this case for the band.

Mate - im a fan too (although not as big as you) and I would say until proven guilty he is innocent.

I dont know why stuff like this comes out in the press. UNTIL someone is found guilty all this type of stuff should be kept quiet and a gagging order immediately placed. Things like this can ruin peoples lives - even if found innocent.

How many times have we read alleged rapists not being convicted? yet they may as well be convicted because peoples views of them are already tarnished.

I agree its sickening and disgusting. I would still give benefit of the doubt - he could have been set up or something - I can only speculate.

Well when its found on a computer I think it's fair to assume that something dodgy is going on. I am yet to hear a legitimate reason for anyone having that kind of thing on their computer.

Me neither and I agree - its just my nature to always give people benefit of the doubt.

I suppose it is strange - this is a guy part of a popular band and im sure he has his fair share of women after him etc so I find it difficult to believe he could have this kind of stuff on his PC. Obviously its a deranged state of mind that even if you have the women in the world you still want the younger kids so to speak.

Celebrity cannot mask something which is deep inside someone, in fact, what can happen is that it unleashes a whole crew of enablers who oftentimes WITHOUT KNOWING are allowing someone who is sick/mentally disturbed in this way to have access to situations which are beyond anyone's comprehension. I find it very very possible that none of his bandmates had any idea he was a nonce (oftentimes bands are like any other 'work' situation where you work closely but actually stay away from each other when not working, if only to preserve the working relationship!)...I feel very sorry for the rest of his bandmates if, indeed, they did not have a clue (as I suspect is the case)...sick people in this industry go to great lengths to hide. The thing people might never find out here, is how many people he co-erced into fulfilling whatever it is he wanted fulfilling. I find nonces absolutely disgusting. it is the lowest of the low, and I cannot be rational when discussing punishments for them, because despite my anti-death penalty leanings, I know if anyone ever laid so much as an unwanted hair on my kids heads, I would want Bronson/Stamp/Eastwood style retribution however 'unreasonable' that sounds.

Tragic for the victims.

How would you treat someone for something like that? serious point and i mean it.

The wife works with people with drug problems and some of them do get better but a persons sexual preferences are not going to change, if you like men your gay and fine if you like women your straight and fine, if you like children your not fine and they themselves must know it, they give in to there urges and that is not on.

Joking aside the are times when i felt i could have hurt people that messed me around and in all seriousness the only reason that those people are still living and breathing is because i knew it was wrong and i am scared of prison. So the is some things i would like to do but dont because it is wrong. Now if these people are doing things to children that they know is wrong i do not think they will ever be cured.

It is such an extreme act that if found guilty they should use the lethal injection, when a dog is diseased you put it down. People like to go about how we are humans and better then animals. But what separates us from the animals is our ability to think and make proper decesions. If someone makes the decesion to *struggle cuddle* a child then they are not better then a diseas animal and need to be put down.

Anyone who has read my posts over the years will know im a little right wing on things like the EU and immgration and crime but this is not me trying to live up to an image because on a lot of things and especailly sexuality im actually quite liberal. But stuff with kids is not on really is not.

hahaha yeah i know mate. I just stole a packet of ham from waitrose in chichester tonight, did it just to see how easy it was as im writing a book about shop lifting. If i was a nonce aand give into my urges one night i imagine the first thing i would do is contact the police and say i was writing a book and my research lead me onto a site but i was disgusted by what i saw, obviously.

I agree, innocent until proven guilty but already it has leaked out that things were found on his computer. The question should probably be how that happened, as a fair trial will be very difficult unless they can close a slam-dunk case and have further irrefutable evidence which renders a trial moot. And yes, as I said above, it is a mental illness/fusing issue, but sadly (as I have understood it speaking with professionals in the medical field) rehabilitation and treatment of nonces is simply not possible, ditto serial killers; both have irreversible mental patterns. If we were being clinical we would say they were broken eggs. And whilst I think it's an incredibly dangerous path to walk down (depending on who's in power, the slightest mark on egg could render it 'broken') when it comes to nonces and child crimes, my middle-aged view has become much more extreme than ever it used to be. I can find no redemption. For me, they must go away forever.

Well I am sure they can but again unlikely. He was charges with possessing, creating and making images. Probably means he's in some of them and I doubt its photoshop at play here.

Ah well fair enough, I wouldn't call you cynical (don't really know you mate ), I believe him, if I'm wrong, I'm wrong but, after reading more into the subject and reading interviews and the books (which was eventually released with his autobiography) I just believe him. I could be wrong but, I'm not.

Why don't you play them? If you've already got the records he's not getting anymore money out of it. Love the who (maybe a reason for bias on my part).

This is a really interesting point, but where do you draw the line? For example a lot of murderers may commit murder because they get a "kick" out of it (similar with other crimes I suppose), is this because they are ill in some way, and should be put in a mental home?

You've also stumbled onto the interesting debate of when someone commits a crime whether you want to punish them, make them better or protect society. Of course you can want varying amounts of all three but sometimes the interests there will conflict.

This is they key. Apparently, pedophiles and serial killers cannot be rehabed. Again, it shocked me to find myself so utterly hateful of nonces, but I am and frankly, the very least I could feel good about is solo life in prison.
