Hugo Lloris

The France coach Didier Deschamps has criticised Arsène Wenger after the Arsenal manager said that Abou Diaby should not have been selected for recent internationals.

"I want to remind him that I am the only one to decide who will be picked and how long those who are picked will play," Deschamps said. "There is only one to decide and it's me."

Diaby was ruled out of action for three weeks after sustaining a thigh injury in the 2-1 defeat by Chelsea in the Premier League last Saturday.

"I think it was a mistake to play him with the national team," Wenger said after Diaby picked up yet another injury. "I said many times that if France wanted Diaby in Spain they should not take him for Finland and Belarus."

So Deschamps can criticize others, but not the other way round? I get it now.

this should be bumped nicely

thoughts on our world class or potentially world class keeper. i was certain it was going to be a clean sheet, well cause you know....when we keep a clean sheet it is lloris and not the team that does it...and when freidel conceeds its him not keeping the clean sheet....as opposed to the team

also i thought lloris reactions were supposed to be alot better than freidels...how come he didnt save that

i think he should get an 8 for that performance

this post is a very poor attempt at sarcasm

Came off his line a few times for crosses, one decent interception on the edge of the box, average distribution, first away game for Spurs. All in all a solid 11.

NOt pointing any fingers or nothing...but i wonder how those that think lloris is being persecuted have acted towards freidel in this thread:-"

just taking a bit of a guess ...could be wrong guys..apologies if so

examples ??

 nice

i wont respond to that one. i cleary made it up..no one has claimed that freidel is past it, was at fault for all our goals, is primarily the reason we havent kept a clean sheet in the league and that lloris would have done significantly better than him. everyone has been nothing but fair on that topic

over active imagination

edit:- i surrender, am clearly brick stirring.....but clearly there wont be unfair appraisals on brad anymore after this;) even though there never was in the past

well i guess this is the issue here mate, i don't think there have been 'unfair appraisals' of Brad Friedels performances this season - certainly not to the extent that yourself and several others seem to be trying to make out.

as i keep saying, he is getting the same calls for/against him that he has been getting the whole time he has been here - i challenge you to go back through this thread and pick out some hard evidence that there are people with a consistent agenda against him - i think you'd be surprised yourself with the results and maybe you'd realize that it's mainly all in your head ( ;) ) i actually started looking through it myself but after skim reading about half the posts i got bored with a lack of anything note worthy

People have suggested Lloris would save nearly every goal this season

People even suggested Friedel was slow to react to a shot which flashed past him from 6 yards at 50mph

People said Friedel is stuck to his line which leads to goals

People said Lloris is a world class keeper and better than Friedel

But I didn't see that tonight - I saw another good keeper who made one bad mistake when he dropped the ball, and who didn't save the goal... because nearly all goalkeepers are human beings.

My slight worry is that the less Lloris plays the more pressure will be put on him when he does and I guess pressure leads to mistakes. I thought he did fairly well tonight, other than when he dropped the cross. Thought other than that his handling was good, distribution OK (not as good as against Lazio) and was really impressed how he came off his line towards the end of the first half. Could he have done more for the goal? Probably not, but you could say that about a lot of the goals Brad's conceded later, but people will always disagree. I'd say a 6.5/10 tonight.

Yes there has.

So others also noticed the World class sweeper keeper that will teach old man Brad a thing or two about coming off his line...ummm....stayed on his line for their goal after being caught in two minds? i mean we all saw that right?

well clearly i disagree and id like you to show me some hard evidence of all this unfair criticism that has led several posters to believe there is an agenda against him

Lloris gets an 8 vs Lazio but brad gets a 6 vs qpr. There's more but that in itself is utterly disgusting and cringeworthy. Of course there's incidents where certain posters blame brad for nearly every goal we concede but that's to be expected from a hater but rating Lloris an 8 vs lazio and then having the nerve to say Friedel deserves a 6 vs QPR is low.

dear lord - you are not seriously trying to prove a point by cherry picking one moment from goalkeepers second game for his new club ? because that's just ridiculously departed, even for you ;)

cherry picking lol? you mean cherry picking a moment that resulted in a goal and also it's the exact attribute certain people claim make them not rate Friedel. Where were you when Friedel was getting targeted for some of our goals conceded this season btw? or we're not allow to critique a new player?

if that's the case why didn't you say anything when a poster decided to give LLoris a 0.5 increase in ratings because it was his debut:ross:
