this has been discussed and is purely you looking for something which isn't there - new signing, debut, looks comfortable = people getting ahead of themselves in heaping praise.

if this is the best you can produce in terms of evidence of an agenda against Friedel (by comparing his rating with a debutant) then i have little worry that you'll be coming up with anything conclusive

or how about a poster labelling Friedel's reflexes that of a 90 year old? funnily enough it's the same poster that has a Lloris avi...coincidence though i think.
 
Friedel's form has been described as average. Not good, not bad but average this season.

I think he's been in really good form so far this year

Surely it is Friedel that has massive pressure on him, knowing that one mistake will lead to an outcry for the world class Lloris to replace him.

it would be ridiculous to drop him based on one incident and im sure there is no such pressure on him, from management at least.

anyway it seems you also have an agenda as you wasn't this vocal when Friedel was on the end of some stick. Seems you only have an issue now because lloris is getting stick not because we're directing stick at a spurs player generally or we're unfairly criticising someone.

i was just highlighting that picking one moment from a game (so early in to a new goalkeepers time here) and using it against him is a rather pointless exercise and also rather ironic considering it's the type of comments he has been defending Friedel over

Defending Friedel over because i don't actually see it as that big of a problem at all. Seems you're missing the point but what can you do.

Im not trying to defend Lloris from stick though ? if you look at the match ratings thread i commented on it myself

it was your use of the incident in that point scoring tone that i was picking up on - not that you was criticizing him

as for regards to the evidence - im sorry but i do not see what you highlighted as evidence of hating - someone scoring him a 6 in a game he played averagely in and someone making a quip about his age

no im not commenting on Lloris other than to say he has been overly praised by some because he is new to the team and that Friedel is being given the same criticism as he always has.

i have no allegiance to Lloris other than he is our player, i couldn't give two bricks if people want to criticize him for one thing or the other same as i do for the negatives people bring up about Friedel

I don't get it. So you're not trying to defend Lloris from stick but you're merely defending him from criticsm of a particular incident that resulted in a goal which is if i'm not mistaken......defending him from stick?

Where were you when Friedel was getting stick for the same thing btw?

Ok fair enough.

Personally, I don't think it's a coincidence that some posters are highlighting certain aspects of Friedel's game and performances because they're desperate for Lloris to be our keeper. Understandable they want Lloris in goal at some point, but the time isn't right now as Friedel isn't performing badly, in fact, he's been very good so far.

it was the sarcastic point scoring way that you criticized him that got my back up, not the criticism itself. (maybe my initial response was the problem looking back, doesn't make that entirely clear)

and as for where was i when Friedel done the same ? i was criticizing him for it and funnily enough i was probably getting stick from AS JtG or yourself (or all 3 of you)
